has anyone given their puppy this food? I bought some yesterday and after just one meal, Ollie smells like onions and garlic and I don't mean his breath....it's seeping out through his pores...it's horrible....has anyone else had this problem?

No, I have not tried it with my puppies. Does it have that stuff in the ingredients? Is it to keep fles off, or something?I just started giving mine, Bil Jac. They love it.

I feed the Blue Buffalo Adult Lamb & Rice to our herd, and no strange smells.  Does the bag of puppyfood smell like onions and garlic?  Are those ingredients listed on the bag?  Could he have rolled in something?

I have checked ingredients, nothing that stands out. It's the chicken and brown rice puppy formula.

He couldn't have rolled in anything. He rarely goes outside and if he does he is stuck to me like glue. A bit shy about being anywhere but in the house.

He hasn't had any since Monday evening and the smell is gone. It's very strange.

It couldn't have onions in it - they're toxic to dogs!

I used to feed Blue until the recall, since their dog biscuits were part of the recall I stopped feeding the food too. I do remember opening the bad and it smelled terrible!!!!!

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

You might want to try and switch back to whatever food you were feeding before and see if it goes away. If it does, it's probably related to the food. Give the company a call and try asking them about it.
Good luck!

Mystery solved. It wasn't the food. I had also bought some new treats the same day. It was the treats. Horrible horrible smell. Ollie couldn't understand why I didn't want him in my lap as much as he usually is LOL

All is ok now, back on Blue Buffalo minus the horrid treats and everything is going well.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and concerns.

They are "Talk To Me" treats, cheese flavored. I bought them at Petsmart.

They are evil....stay away from them...
