We are trying to get Sorley Ratbone to his forever home on Sept. 7th.  His family is in Pennsylvania but his new dad will come meet him in North Carolina.  BUT we have to get him up there from St. Marys, GA.  I am driving him the first 2 laps to Savanah....near the SC border...but we desperately need people to drive laps through SC and NC!

Not only is Sorley's new family anxious to get him but I have 2 new fosters coming in on Sept. 13th so Sorley really needs to get to his forever home.  We chose not to fly him as he has a lot of trust and fear issues and we felt flying him would be traumatizing....so please, can you help this guy get home?

Here is the transport post: http://www.rat-terrier.com/Home/tabid/37/forumid/7/postid/334501/view/topic/Default.aspx

I did mapquest to see if I could since I'm in SC, but I'm about as far away from this drive as I can be (I'm close to the NC border, but near Asheville-ish)... I thought I'd tell you just so you know that you're not being ignored...
Hope you find someone soon!!

Mary Beth, are you going up I - 95 through SC with the transport? I am working at getting more support in SC, but I don't have anyone on the I-95 route yet. I will post to Ratbones Myspace if you want me to.

I would so love to be able to help! My poor little Tracker has no AC (normal) and a coolant leak (not normal) at the moment. I just don't know how far I can trust it to go.

Thanks everyone, we may need you at some point in the future for another transport so thanks for being willing to help!

Lois - yes, if you could post to RBR Myspace that would be great. Betsey is working hard on this transport but right now it's me and Cheyl Wordweaver....and I really would prefer not to drive from St. Marys to Florence, SC....it will be4 hours up and 4 hours back. But we need to get Sorley to his new dad....who is driving over 300 miles one way to get him!

Mary Beth, I contacted one of my contacts on myspace, Freedom Train, and sent them the transportation route, legs, times, and contact info for Betsey. Freedom Train is made up of a host of volunteers from a variety of different rescues that come together to get dogs to safe shelters or forever homes. Usually they go North along the Eastern Seaboard from my understanding. If they come through for us on this, we owe them one (O: .
