My parents have a huge mole problem. They live in the country and the moles push up daily/nightly. My dad has tried alot of stuff. I have thought about taking Paisley over there and hanging out for a bit and seeing if instinct kicks in. She definitely has the drive to go after squirrels but she can never catch them.

Many ratties are mole killers - LOL!!! As long as she's up to date on all her shots, I don't see why you couldn't give it a try.

My place was the same way, but our cats completed eradicated the mole population long before Daisy came

Yes, I really have to watch Ivy when we go to the baseball field that has them because if I do not she would dig up the outfield trying to get them.

If there gamie it is possible as long as the moles are active. If not it is to late this year, but if you plant some caster beans you will have no moles. Need to plant them in the spring

Our late great Zack (collie/terrier mix) was an avid mole hunter. We have no idea what kind of terrier he was though...

And I know Sophie is AWARE of moles (or something under the ground) because she'll intently sniff, and sometimes dig shallowly and sniff again...

But I don't think we really have any right now, so I don't know... but all that points to me that a rattie would do well at it... and the fact that Zack safety and often killed moles makes me think it's not like it's likely to get Paisley sick... so I figure, worth a try!

my ratties are always hunting, but they haven't caught anything lately (the ground gets so hard during the summer...no rain), but last spring they were hunting and killing gophers and moles. as long as Paisley is up to date with her shots, it couldn't hurt to see what she'd do. some ratties have strong prey drives, but others don't...so it would be interesting to see where she fits in, especially since she likes to chase squirrels so much.

My Brielle has killed several rats. I don't know if moles can carry Lepto or not, but that is the shot vets recommend if your dog kills rats and mice. Brielle never has had the shot, and has not gotten sick, thank goodness. I think I was afraid she would have a allergic reaction to the vaccine, is why I did not get it.

Mine have chased all the moles out of my yard - but be careful if your folks have laid poison for the moles. I'd hate Paisley to get into any.

Yes, Ratties will go after moles and kill them, but would your parents mind if they dig up the yard while doing it? Mine get anything that goes into their territory on top of the ground or under it! Once they get obsessed with moles the yard is never the same. Mine have dug a six foot long tunnel, it was a group effort but Once started they would not stop.

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!

Bailey (AND Buster) kill moles and when they go outside immediately set out on a mission to do so! LOL
Oddly enough, my little black doxie (Lil'Bit) is the one who is obsessed about killing mice and she's as good at catching them as most cats I've seen.
Now Hoss (my 12-year old doxie)... doesn't do anything. LOL
