Time for our May contest.  This month we have extra incentive to participate.  Gwacie is donating a couple of crinkle toys for the first and second place winners!  Thanks gwacie!!

Now for the contest.  Ratties At Work In The Garden.  This is the time of year we all dig in the dirt and put out flowers, whether in a yard or in a pot.  I know my Katie Scarlett loves to help.  How 'bout your Rattie?  Get a photo of how your Rattie helps(?) you with the gardening and post in this contest thread.

Rules are the usual, but I'll repeat for newbies:

  • Photos must be real - not photohopped.  Photos may be cropped, etc, but not falsified with PhotoShop.
  • One entry per dog, per member.  If you own mulitple dogs you may enter each one in a photo or all in one photo.  Either way counts as their entry.
  • Entries need to be posted by May 13.  Voting will take place on May 14 and 15.
  • PM Katie'sMom with your favorite vote.  Please just vote for one (yeah, yeah, I know it's hard to pick one - but no one said life was easy!)

And yes, you may vote for your own entry!

Grab the shovel, the pots, the work gloves, the Rattie and the camera and have some fun.  Not only may you win the contest, but you will have some pretty flowers (or maybe just lots of flower holes courtesy of your digger) too!

Great Idea! ( Sorry I wasn't on and wasn't able to e-mail you about this. I have had a BUNCH of homework, and I am manager on my school's track team, so I get home late, and that throws my night off by about 2+ hours. . .) But anyhow, Here's Daisy's entry!

Yikes...I don't know if I can do any planting by the 12th. It would all turn into posicles overnight.

I usually have a TON of planting pictures with Bella but our tulips will be the last things planted until we move. Mike says no more plants on the patio since we only have a couple more weeks, haha.  I'm sure she will have field day when we start landscaping at the new house!

Your photo doesn't have to be planting -- digging holes, cleaning up leaves, trimming bushes --- any work out in the yard.

Shades of "Little Shop of Horrors"!

Scooter thought it was strange and silly of me to ask her to sit among the flowers, especially since they are bigger than her.   If there isn't food or a mouse in it, she isn't interested.  This was our best effort at a garden shot.

Go reread the rules, silly girl ---- one entry per dog per member.  That is supposed to mean if you have three dogs, you can post one entry of each OR all three in one entry.  I'm not seeing any puppies posted.

Eddie & Daisey in Bromeliad Garden

First photo is Eddie's submission. Ed was digging in my bromeliads (tilling the soil, LOL). The second photos is Daisey's submission. Notice in Daisey's photo she really is helping by deadheading an old leaf from the plant (it's in her mouth - an action shot).

Angel helping with the raking, by digging in the piles and spreading the leaves back out.  The live oaks are finally done shedding and the last storm we had come through blew off the remaining leaves and small branches.

She may play hard but she does take time to smell the tulips!

And for Fred........when I cut the grass he and Alice love to play and run around fresh cut grass.  It is so funny, their feet and legs turn totally green. I don't know if you can tell in these pics but it is tooo cute!!  I hope from the pic you can get an idea of how green their feet get!!
