Hey every, I can't believe I didn't find this site till now. Very nicely done.

Anyways, I am looking for a male puppy for sale or adoption that would be available by around june 5th. I'd prefer him to be born within the last week or so. I'm also hoping to not have his tail docked, since I love seeing their tails wag when they play. It seems that most of the puppies available are toy or smaller sized terriers. I'm specificily looking for one that is at the higher end of the size spectrum. I live in Boston, but I don't mind driving upto 4 hours to pick one, and shipping isn't a problem either. Lastly, having him registered as a pure breed isn't really important to me either.

Please let me know if any of you breed, or know of a breeder that can help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Gleb

Ratbone rescues is a rescue organization that fosters rat-terriers until they can be adopted into their forever homes
Many of us here have adopted thorough them, my Toa is from ratbones.
They are amaxing. The pups come with their shots, spayed/neutered and microhipped!!

Here are two links to ratbone rescues litters.....

Tempo is still available for adoption...they will be ready in early may though.

two of these boys are available still but it looks like theyre available now.

If you dont want this route, I know there are a couple litters on the site here also, hopefully you will find your perfect rattie baby!
WELCOME! Keep us posted!

I know dtls224 in Minnesota has a litter that is about 2 weeks old. But you should check out ratbones like Mary said as well.

And welcome to the sute!

Thank you for the fast responses. I have checked out the the rescue site and they didn't have anything available that I was looking for. I would prefer to adopt instead of getting directly from a breeder, since a breeder's puppies are almost guaranteed to get picked up where the adopted ones might not. I'd like a puppy that would be just weened.

The reason I'd want them to be available for early June is because I'll be out of the country for 10 days in late May, and there is no way I'd want to put pressure on someone else to take care of a new puppy for that long. After May, I have 4 months to train and socialize him until school starts up. I'm just lucky that my school schedule lets me have a dog.

Thanks again for the responses. I will check with dtls224.

I do have pups but the tails have been docked and they will be middle of the road for size. Right around 12 -16 lbs.

I think it's great that you want to adopt I hope you can find the rattie you are looking for!!!

Here's a couple possibilities on petfinder:

This is Lulu

And this is Demsey (he has sisters listed as well ) They claim they are fox terriers mixed with maybe corgi, but I don't see fox terrier, their noses/head shape look more rat terrier to me, but in New England many have never heard of ratties:

Just for curiosity's sake, I was wondering why you're interested in a just weaned puppy? Again...just curious.

thanks for all the links on petfinder. I've been looking through there occasionally, but and many of the puppies look great, but my first choice would be a little guy that would be born either in the past two weeks, or within the next 2 weeks.

The reason I'd like one that would be just weaned is that one of the best parts of owning a dog is having him/her in their puppy years. I'd like to get the puppy at the earliest time possible in its life, which most people seem to agree is at 8-9 weeks. If by mid May, I don't find a puppy that I'm looking for, I'll spring for one on petfinder.

How about this one .... It is a female though...  and she would not be available until she is 12 weeks and she would be spayed...no exceptions.

That pup looks a lot like the dog in your avatar, Darla. Is she related to the avatar rattie? Just curious...
