your morning poo until mommy or daddy feeds you. You know it's reaaly cold and snowy here? We take her outside when we wake up and she pees but refuses to poop. So we bring her in, feed her then she goes to the door right after her last bite to poop. WE WERE JUST OUT THERE! |

| Don't feed her... simple as that. Bring her back in and put her in her crate for 5-10 minutes then take her out again. Keep repeating this process. Once she finally poops... THEN feed her. |

Unfortunately she isn't crated. That was a long disasterous 5-6 month process that we gave up on. We have brought her back in and just not fed her but, with three kids mornings are kinda busy so if she doesn't get fed then, she likely won't get fed. Also thats still two trips outside. |

| Pinky is doing the same thing....but she is getting better. I go out with her, keep telling her to go poop, and I don't look at her. This is what a friend told me to do. I don't move either, and she knows we are not going into the house until she goes, and it seems to be working...just a thought. I also shovel a small area on our lawn for both of them and that helps....I must look like a crazy women out in my PJ's shovelling my lawn!!! LOL The things we do for our dogs..... |

It takes a while to get the body to match the human's cycle time (grin). We are going through this with the Peanut at the moment. He wakes up and sometimes has to eliminate (both). Other times he has to eat first (feed ahead response) and then he poops. He always goes after eating but sometimes he goes after his night. You might just have to allow an extra 15 mins in your schedule in the morning for now. Get up a little earlier. Think about it, do you POOP ON COMMAND? I know I can't and the older I get the tougher it is! |

| My girls will USUALLY do both first thing in the morning, before breakfast. But now that they're on a Raw Diet (no fiber fillers), they poop a lot less in a 24 hour period than they did on kibble. So if they don't seem to need to poop first thing in the morning, I go on and feed them breakfast and just let whichever one didn't poop yet go out again by themselves. The meal invariably triggers an immediate poop. I'm retired, and also live in a warmer climate where it rarely snows (Texas), so this is not a problem for me when it occurs. |

thing is, she does need to go. I know it, she knows it. That is why it is so maddening. It's not that she just doesn't need to yet. She simply wants to eat first. |

Well, they are stubborn little things.... How about a snack on the way out (like a larger treat or dog biscuit or something)? Fool her into it! |

| Sounds like she's just gotten in a habit of eating and then needing back out. It can be hard to break a habit, especially with one of these little guys. I'd try giving her a snack outside first thing in the morning. That way she "ate" and needs to poo. |

I've always fed before letting them out. Though, my boyfriend gets home from work around 230 am so he lets them out for a nightly potty. Another plus is having a fenced yard, I just open the door, they go out, they potty and then come back in. It's finally getting warmer here so that helps; no more snow and starting to get daily sunshine. Now if the wind chill would just go away |

| Dottie will not do it in her own yard! We have to walk her down the street. Fortunately, we live in a heavily wooded subdivision and there are no scooping laws, so our little princess just gets her business done on her morning walk. Just don't try to pour the second cup of coffee without taking her for her morning routine first! |

Yikes! I sympathize Linda. I will be thankful it's only one neurotic pooper not 4. That would stink. Haha...stink. But yeah, Yaz needs just the right spot too. She spins around and around sniffing frantically with the poop falling out her bum before she squats. Nuts!

| that is ourt cycle as well.. in the morning for our own benefit knowing that they are fully "drained and relieved"... we walk our babies at 5am so they pp... maybe a poop... again at 5:30 after breakfast when they pp and maybe poop again (or 1st time). then they are walked for a pp again at 7am. they will have their over night poop ready to go 1st or 2nd walk... and after meal poop on 2nd or 3rd walk. i think its normal. you go when you got to. them eating might "push" the food/poop along. |

Dixie will bark at us if she needs to go poop or pee. she also does a dance, kinda like a bucking bull. We call it her potty dance. Funny thing is when we let her out she has to run off of the porch and bark at everything, then take a squat. Then go bark somemore. after she has ran around the house barking for about 3 or 4 times, the she's ready to come in the house. This goes on in the morning before work, and at night before bed. I don't know if she's telling everyones she going to the potty or she thinks she running everything off first. Funny dog. |

| Weird Linda. My boys don't do that. They all poop in their own corner of the yard (which means I get my exercize cleaning it up after they go). Now, peeing on the plants, that's different. I have a bush that I would have SWORN they killed this winter it was hit so many times but it seems to be struggling back to life this spring. Go figure. |

| Mimzy gets fed at night so she usually poops in the morning. She doesn't mind me watching. Does anyone else look at their poop? I do, just to make sure nothing strange is going on. She also has to find just the right spot before she goes. Madeline will be joining our family (our first foster) this weekend, and it will be interesting to see what her schedule is. When Mimzy wants to go out, there is not barking, she just sits and STARES at you like she is trying to communicate telepathicly! Silly girl.! |
