Hey everyone.... I just posted on the Sellwood thread- and thought I'd update here too.
I'm all for the 2 meetups same day (29th) Sellwood and Potso. Thay way, anyone who can attend either or both can. If we do 2 meets same day, what times should we say...... so that those that want to do both can? What about noon and 3? Would that work? I'm totally open to suggestions/changes. Want this to be available to anyone who wants to meet other ratties and ratty lovers!!
If anyone needs better directions to Sellwood meet, PM me and I'll give directions or we can talk on the phone and I can talk you through it! |

Noon and 3:00 work fine for me....
If that's too late/early, we can adjust it by an hour or so... And I don't mind giving a lift if anyone needs it, too. I have a small car (Jetta), but it fits ratties just fine! I've crammed me, my BF, and all three of our dogs in it one time, so I'm sure it'll work for a person or two and a couple ratties! |

Oh! And before I go off sending messages.... Once we get the times nailed down, does anyone mind of I email the info to Chuck (a very nice older man I did a RBR Homevisit for this past weekend- has one older rattie and may have another by then... he ADORES ratties and would love to join us!) and Melanie & Derek (D is a coworker of mine and Mel is his wife- they have a rattie Sasha and love taking her out to Potso- sometimes I make arrangements to meet them on the weekends)? I can totally understand if you're not wanting to pass this on to everyone- they're not on r-t.com, but I'm thinking the more, the merrier. I believe both dogs would be coming to Potso if they came out. Both of them live out in Beaverton. Anyway, if you'd rather keep it to just r-t.com members, feel free to PM me or just post on here. I don't mind either way. (Trust me, won't offend me at all...) I just didn't want to hijack the meet-up and start going nuts with invites. |

3:00 for Potso is fine for me. It was fun (accidentally) meeting Lori, CocoBean & Snickers at Potso on Sunday! Cocobean is such a tiny little muffin... and just adorable!
Chrys: As far as I'm concerned... the more the merrier... so spread the word! Susan Cadell (Ratbone's Oregon coordinator) might also want to come with her Rattie pack... I can email her... but if Dawn (Paisley's foster) knows about it, she may have already told Susan.)

Hi guys! Noon @ Sellwood and 3 at Potso sound like a plan to me! I'll post again to the Sellwood thread with the time change. I'm totally fine with invites of people oustside of RT- doesn't matter to me. Chrys- I'll let you know after seeing how Sellwood goes if we can/should come to Potso with you. If I've just gotten Bonnie by then, I don't want to freak her out by putting her in a situation might be overwhelming to her. Her FM said she's a bit skittish and submissive. So, maybe I can leave her home, or just not go. We'll see. Maybe she'll do much better than I am expecting!! Who knows. Anyway..... HOPE TO SEE SOME OF YOU AT SELLWOOD @ NOON !! |

| Anyone still planning on going to either the Sellwood and/or Potso park on the 29th? I haven't seen any PM's, or new posts since I last posted on the 10th. Sent an email to Chrys- haven't heard back yet. I really hope to see somebody there! I'll be at Sellwood at noon with both my girls. See the new post re: time change. |

| I am planning on Potso park unless it is brutally hot that day - is there shade there? I have a problem with circulation in my feet (they swell) and standing out in that kind of weather will make me miserable, so I would say I am tentative... |

| I'm not sure- I've never been there. Shoot- I'd totally forgotten about the heat expected for this weekend! There is some shade at Sellwood, but not much. I'm beginning to think there won't be many at either park this weekend with the heat. Who knows. |

Oh! I didn't see an email from you Terri and haven't been checking in on here everyday this week! Sorry! Anyway... Potso has a little shelter built covering a picnic table, so there is shade there and a place to sit. There is also fresh running water available for the dogs and poop bags. (Just in case you were wondering...) I am a huge fan of heat, so totally planning to go! It's supposed to be hot and sunny, so I'm all about being outside. I have to double check with my sister tomorrow, but it sounds like she needs a pick-up from the airport on Sun morning. I think she said about 10 or 11, so I may be a touch late to Sellwood. I'll know more about that after I drop her off at the airport tomorrow night. Either that, or she may come by with me. We'll see. And no problems with Potso. I've talked to Derek (guy I work with whose wife has Sasha the rattie) and he said Melanie's got the Potso meetup calendared. Which means they will plan to be there. I'll MySpace him, though to verify that... He's off this week so won't see him before that. I'm totally stoked for the meetup, but I haven't checked in with Karen or any of the others... Then again, perhaps they did like I did and calendared it and then just haven't been back on for a bit. Talk to you later! I'm off to check on that email thing. Wonder which address I have have listed on here. I think my Comcast account may be having some issues because my cuz keeps saying she's emailing me and I keep not seeing them.... |

Beanie & I will certainly be there, along with Dave, the DH, and Snickers, the honorary RT. We're 100% planning on Potso at 3 pm, and probably Sellwood at noon.
I was hoping I'd have my first RBR foster, but alas, he's still in CA. Too bad!

Hi all... I just wanted to check in about the meet up on Sunday. I'm not going to be able to make it to Sellwood because I have a dog to groom in the morning (my day off... but is sort of an emergency for a friend of one of my other clients) but I will be done in plenty of time to go to Potso. It sure is going to be HOT on Sunday... and there's not any shade at Potso, other than the canopy over the picnic table, and that isn't going to help at 3 PM. Don't know if anyone is still planning to come down from Washington or driving a ways..... or whether everyone will be checking in here before then. Personally if it were at all possible, I think moving the time up to early evening around 7 PM would be a better idea with the heat... but will plan to go at 3 PM if that is what is still going to work for everyone. |

I talked to my sister last night (as I dropped her off at the airport) about the time I have to pick her up on Sunday. I guess she flies in at 11. So, I was thinking... I think it would really be a push for me to make it to Sellwood by noon after picking her up. And she doesn't really want to spend too much time on the way home. I really want to make it out to Sellwood to see all of you out there, though. Does anyone mind if I plan to show up out there around 12:30-1? That will give me plenty of time to drop off my sister and make it to the park. I'm only like half an hour away from the airport, but I don't want to have to run around like crazy... Does that work for everyone involved with Sellwood? And as far as Potso is concerned... I forgot about the 3:00 sunn making it's way under the shelter. Guess I'm always out there too early in the day. Thanks for the tip, Karen! I'm OK with either time. |

Here is the web page about Potso dog park for anyone that might want it: http://www.ci.tigard.or.us/community/parks/potso_dog_park.asp
The direction on the web site are not very clear. The park is just off of Hall Blvd. going towards Tigard. From Hall Blvd. take a (left) on Hunziker, then after a few block take a (right) on Wall Street. You will see the Coe Manufacturing building right before Wall Street. The park is behind Coe Manufacturing, who donated the 4 acres for the park. |

I am car less and unable to come to either meet up! Sad but maybe I will get a new car out of this disaster. I got home from Colorado Thursday and went to the airport parking lot to get my car and it would not start! I was stuck at the airport for five hours. My husband and son ended up towing it home the next day. Something is terribly wrong with the engine and my husband says that it is dead. So sad not to meet up, but it would be hot too and I am not good with hot. So maybe it is for the better for me. Although I would like to be there just to meet everybody! |

| That would be nice. As a pnw native I am used to rain and it does not bother me to be out in it. But the heat is different and the weird weather we are having confuses me. Maybe it is climate change? I like our cool coastal climate but if it is going to get hotter I will have to go north. |

I'm not sure about where you are in Washington... here we had such a rainy cold spring, and seemed like *forever* this year before we got any summer at all... lots of days in the 50's and then suddenly get slammed with the 90+ temps! It's so hard not to have an adjustment period for the increase in temps... but considering what Jan and so many others have suffered through with the flooding... and all the states that deal with hurricanes, tornados etc. that we rarely see in the northwest... I feel very fortunate to live here... at least most of the time! I do have a hard time with the amount of rain we get here... but can't really see myself moving just because of that... and have lived here my entire life... so I do have the webbed feet! |
