Has your girl had all her tests? She needs to have patellas, eyes, heart and hips tested by the vet for OFA. before she is bred.

When hunting for a male you want to be sure that he has had his tests done too! This helps keep the rattie breed free of problems, so it is important!

Most people that show also have stud dogs. Most of them have had their tests, but it is important to ask about it, as some people don't care and some are not honest. But you should be able to tell by going to the OFA web site and finding things out. Another good web site is the nrta web site, it has alot of genetic information on it and the UKC site does too.

You have already waited until your female is a year and a half and thats all to the good too. Just check out these sites and you can down load the test papers that you give your vet for the genetic testing and you are on your way! Good luck!

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!
