Well my girl Twister had her puppies about a month ago and they are so cute.  She had 3 boys and 2 girls.  In the picture the 3 little boys are on the left and the girls are on the right. We didn't dock there tails because i think they are do cute with them, but  can someone tell me how I can go about getting papers for the babies.  When we got Buster, which is the babies father, the owners said they have papers, but couldn't find them.  But at that time we didn't worry about papers because we just wanted Buster.  He was already about 9 months old and they posted him in the paper for free because they were in the military and were going to take him to the pound if they couldn't find a home for him.  So of course we had to go and get him.  And then about a year later we went and bought a female which was our girl Twister.  She didn't have papers either.  So now I'm not sure what the process is for getting the babies there papers if the parents don't have them.  Or should we ever worry about it?  If someone could give me a little incite that would be great. Here is a picture of the little babies also.  They will be ready for new homes around the 7th of June.

Hi!  What beautiful puppies.  Sorry I can't help with your question about getting your pups registered.

What are you hoping to gain by registering them now? Why worry about it now??

If you do not have the papers for the parents you will not be able to get papers on the puppys. They are very cute I have to say. Do they have homes yet? I would make sure to have a contract for the new owners to have them fixed.

Every puppy would have to be what is called "single registered" I am talking UKC as that is what I know. I/we breed to the UKC standard. And you can not singl register until they are 6 months old.

IMO you went about it backwards. In many ways.

Why are you breeding these dogs without registration papers...you don't know their family genetics, do you?  Have you had both male and female tested for all the possible genetic conditions that could be passed on to the puppies?  I realize it's too late for the litter now here but please, consider spaying and neutering your dogs.

Breeding should only be done by the most dedicated people who have done the research, testing, have the financial means to do it correctly and are doing it for the betterment of the breed.  Please read the posts on breeding pinned to the top of this forum.

I hope you find good homes for all your puppies.

Since the parents are not registered you may not be able to register the puppies.  If you could get the father's registration #, you may have more luck.  CKC will let you single register a dog at 6 months with a form completed and witnesses that can attest the dogs are purebreed and you have to submit 3 photos, front, back and side.  Then if the CKC questions the breed, they can do a DNA test.  It sounds like a lot of work to me for the new owner, not for you since it will have to be 6 months old at the time.  You will have to sell them without papers, but you got your dogs without papers.  The goal will be to find them loving homes and since no one has papers, you may want to ask them to sign something asking them to spay or neuter.

I'd like to see pics of your Twister and Buster as well as the pups. They are adorable.
