Does anyone have a great solution on how to manage the shedding? I was thinking on getting a grooming rake to help with the dead hair. I know it would help them out and make them feel better.

Get a grooming mitt! There is a soft side and a rubber side that really gets the loose hair out. My doggies love me to mitt them.

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight. Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and Taffey the mini Aussie and Taffey's half rattie daughter Nedd (nasty evil devil dog and she really is too).

I have a pet hair remover and it fits in your hand, but it is by a brand called Bamboo. I SWEAR DO NOT GET IT! I think it would be meant for thicker coated dogs. NOT RATTIES! I have one, and it BARELY picks up the loose fur on Daisy! It dosen't work!

But I might get a mitt for her! That's a great idea! I should get one of those!

Our local news did a segment on shedding tools..they went to the grooming school with several combs ...the furminator won hands down..they also recommended the furminator shampoo..

Emma and Indie don't shed as much as Apollo does.  So I just use a regular dog brush on them.  But for Apollo I use a grooming mit/glove.  He doesn't shed much except for this time of year though.

Mine don't usually shed badly but when they are blowing coat (seasonal hair loss) I get moist dog bath towelettes and rub them down then I have a soft bristle brush that I brush them with. The wet makes the hair stick to the brush and they love the brush too!
