Bonnie Turner was a Rat Terrier / AHT breeder here in GA that was killed yesterday in a
storm and her husband is severely injured and hospitalized.  A lot of dogs are lost and/or
We are just trying to get the word out and to let everyone know that help is needed.
Rat Terrier ResQ Inc  (ratterrierresq@ yahoo.com remove the space) is offering to do what we can, donate $ for transport and or care of these dogs, etc.
We want people to be on the look out for these priceless dogs. They maybe injuried and very scared.
Thanks for you help.

Just heard about this! Bonnie was a renown breeder of Champion Hairless ratties, and BEAUTIFUL dogs!

She and her hubby were breeding a more sun safe color, solid reds and apparently they are incredibly well known in the Rattie World. I just heard about them a few weeks ago when researching Hairless Ratties.

www.ahts.net/index.html    Some of their pups are National Champs at this Fla kennel (Woodland Manor Kennels).

I was so shocked to hear about this.

I guess many of their dogs were killed....so heartbreaking.

What a horrific nightmare for her husband!!!! A sickening tragedy.

If he needs any fostering help, or whatever, I would gladly jump in.

My heart has been so heavy over this.... it was mentioned in church this morning. I hope her husband is going to be ok, although the emotional trauma from a horrible event such as this will probably be with him the rest of his life. I hope they find all the dogs...

I know it is devastating.

We have now heard that they presume most of the dog have passed away and the handful that managed to get away will be fine.

We are trying to get the address so we can send cards and $ to her husband Michael.

When we get it I will let you know.

This is just a heartbreaking story. The article I read said the couple and five of their dogs (deceased) were found lying in a field near their home.

This is devstating.  Both of my ratties came from her.   I just spoke with her on Thursday concerning Alice and she wanted me to call her this weekend  I have been in touch with some people and here is what I was told:

Vickie-
I spoke with Jo Trapp, a breeder from Florida who has been coordinating the
search, and she said that quite a few of the dogs have been found, but they have
been dead. She is unsure if there are any in the shelters in Polk or Floyd
counties though. They are planning to check the shelters tomorrow. I sugguest
you call Jo at 407-889-8642, and see if maybe she can direct you in a way to
help out with the search. I understand that people are continuing the search
this afternoon.
Thanks for reading-

I have been crying all day. Please keep her family in your prayers.

They have only found 12 living dogs so far. The injured ones are with a vet, and the healthy ones are with Bonnie's Mother - where Bonnie would have wanted them to be.

Last weekend was tragic in so many ways. Those who were lost will be sadly missed by so many people.

Bonnie and Mike look like they were a very happy couple and very friendly people. I will pray for Mike's complete physical recovery. I'm sure their dogs were with Bonnie crossing the rainbow bridge.

I am so sad that such a wonderful breeder has been lost to the Rat Terrier and AHT breeds!

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!
