Well, I found out what all the alpha bitch fighting was about. Maggie was going into season and it was mostly her making sure that all the other dogs knew she was the boss. She has been a total perv lately trying to get poor Simon to breed her and He just thinks she is really strange! He is still too young to breed and I am keeping her crated or with me so that she will leave him alone. In another couple months I will have a circus on my hands cause the boys will start to be old enough to be interested. I have fences to build for my playyards! I expect all the puppygirls to come in season at the same time, except maybe Berry cause she is two months older than Ceecee and Choklit. I hope that my son can help me cause I am not the worlds best fence builder and I need at least three play yards and separate sleeping arangements. I did not plan on having quite so many dogs this year and time is always catching up with me. I so don't want any WHOOPS!

You are going to have your hands full keeping them apart so there is no hanky panky. Kind of like being a dorm mom at a college.

You are right on there! They are inventive little boogers! No puppies this year please! Next year I will be home all the time so puppies will be OK.

Simon is the cute little boy black tri piebald looking at the camera, Choklit and Ceecee are snuggled together between him and Maggie and Berry is the piebald chocolate behind Simon. the tuxido pearl is Chester.

I am sure that they will. Simon has blue and chocolate in his backround and Maggie is a pearl which is dilute chocolate. So we can get about anything! Except sable, no sable in either ones backround for at least five generations if at all. But I am hoping for lemons or apricots myself.

Can you please tell me about the sable. I think my Ana is the Sable color you are speaking about. I love her for her, but I am just wondering about the color. Is the Sable a defect? Is my Ana a sable?

Not sure, but she looks a little dark for a sable to me...maybe apricot?

Here is an excellent website on rat terrier colors.  http://www.imageevent.com/shawspaws/ratterriercolors

I am thinking that she is a sable, it is not a defect!!!!  She is a wonderful and very pretty dog.

Sable is not a defect, but some people don't like it as a color. Our Mysty is a sable. She was much darker when she was a puppy and lightened as she grew up. Her color is tan sable. Now her darker hairs are mostly on her back and around her nose. There are many colors of sable and the site on color is very helpful to idenify your dogs color.

I guess Nibbler would be a high red chocolate. because his nose isn't black, its kind of a pinkish brown.

Black nose is sable. Chocolate always has brown nose. Sable starts dark as pup and grows lighter, but the nose doesn't change.
