I have a silly question....well, first, is this transport full yet?
Also,
why wouldnt we be taking all the pups from NC south at the same time if some need to get to st mary's GA and some to Palm Bay FL?
Its probably an obvious answer, but just curious! hehe

I don't understand some of it myself Mary??? Ratbones did have a transport today of some of them to Fla..I emailed one person to ask if we could all somehow transport together..never heard back? They may have already been full???? I dunno?

I  volunteer to transport for any one who needs it...but I cannot swing going to Charlotte....8 hours RT. Just too far for me....unfortunately.

The transport  to Palm Bay was coming via Charlotte and is 3 crates...3 females and puppies so may be too many for one vehicle? Also, Sherri (the woman who busted the Millers) has ALL of them at her house awaiting transport, and has had a sudden family tragedy, so she couldn't leave this weekend.

I was hoping that someone might want a little mini vacation in Savannah (Free Hotel) and get them here to me...then I could get them to anyone able to help near the Fla border....

One rescue group (not Ratties) in S.C. is trying to round up a volunteer to perhaps get them here by NEXT weekend...fingers crossed!!! Then I can get them to the Fla border..or close.

It's SO wonderful when  rescue groups, no matter who or what , jump in to help one another .... it's all about the pups and their safety!! And it's such a  great feeling when so many join together to help these hurt little guys and get them to a safe place.

Fingers crossed for these little mommies and babes!!!!

Well, I emailed Paula directly and said this:

I am in a position where I do not have children or a husband and
therefore no crazy weekend commitments.
My two ratties, my job are my life and rescue is becoming a bigger and
bigger part..
If things dont get worked out, keep me in mind for next weekend. I
have a small but VERY roomy SUV and could most likely fit 5 medium
crates.....
I have no plans next weekend and my boyfriend could stay home with th
dogs....if the hotel offer stands (from a member of RT.com) and I
could get some help with gas money, I am totally up for a rattie road
trip!!!!!
Keep me posted please!"

that would include the Palm Bay transport as well as the st mary's one....I dunno...its only 4.5 hours for me to get to Morgantown, NC and then another 5.5 to get to Savannah...I like to drive and again, have that weekend free with no children or anything going on in my life...so...I would be more than happy to donate my time to the pups....

Mary and Diane,

I am also willing to help. It is easier for me to do the I-95 route, but I'm game to go farther if needed. I think the run for Sherri did have all its volunteers but as was noted, an emergency came up. I am going to email both Caroline and Paula to let them know I am still willing to help.

Mary, I'd be willing to ride with you and/or follow in my car to be able to carry more crates That is if you would like a co pilot!!

I guess in looking at routes, folks just figure it is easier to route straight down through NC than to route over to I-95. BUT again, if they want to route over, I'm game to take them all the way to either Savannah or St. Mary's (I know you have that covered Diane but I mean for futures!! .

Anyway, I'll let the ladies know.

Thanks and here's to transporting!!

Looks like I missed a lot of posts today!!

The transports today from what I understood for us and Ratbone were cancelled due to a family emergency for Sherri who has the PM ratties.  So we are looking at other options for next weekend.

I didn't put all of NR's on one transport due to lack of space for most people, but I'd be willing to change the route (Cheryl please email me your thoughts that would work for you and possibly Mary W.) and taking on more dogs.  Diane is available only on Sunday's and was willing to transport down to MB so that is why mine was a different day.

I am always open for suggestions to get everyone from point A to point B & even C!!

I believe MB offered to drive further as well to get everyone where they need to be, so I just need to get my act together and put everyone's input into a new route and get posting.

Thank you everyone for your concern, feedback and offers to help!

Wow, you guys rock!  We were having trouble filling these transport BEFORE Sherri had a family emergency....partly because with 5 crates hardly anyone could take all the dogs in one car.

Mary - if you came down to Savanah it would be so great because we could send Alfy back up with you!!! (For those that don't know my Ratbone foster, Alfy, has been approved for adoption to a couple in the same town as Mary lives in!).

I can certainly get to Savanah to meet someone or further if necessary....just can't go over 3-4 hours one way because I'll be in hubby Pathfinder and he HAS to come along (because the Pathfinder is his "baby" ) so we can't leave all our dogs at home alone any longer than 8 hours or so.  And Di - we'll get Rosy to you on Sunday one way or another.  If I only have to drive to Savanah or Brunswick then I can take the Palm Bay PM dogs on down to Jacksonville or further!

Let me ya'll!! We CAN do this!

OK...YOU two are the BOMB!!!!! (de Bomb I mean!) ABSOLUTELY awesome! THANKYOU MAry and Cheryl!!!! WOWEE!

I do know we also have Alfy (Mary Beth's Ratbones foster) who might be going to a Va Furever home...wouldn't THAT be cool!!!! A ride to Va already here!!!

(Well....Maybe...dunno anything about the potential adoption, other than she MIGHT need a ride North to Va!)

Talk to whoever is setting these little girl's transports up (Paula maybe?)...and please get back to me??? dianehudson2 @ bellsouth.net (forget the spaces)

OK..MY end of the "GREAT SAVANNAH OFFER" (I still owe Miss Cheryl more time in Savannah since my little road incident held her over last time!!!).....I am upping the ante....

You can either stay in the nice new Hotel (where Cheryl & Mom stayed...thanks to my dearest pal, GM Calvin) right off I-95 and minutes from Historic Riverfront Savannah.....OR........if you come to Tybee (20 miles further East) I will put you into a oceanfront beach house with huge ocean front deck, 4 bedrooms, etc....Sat night. AND I will donate $50 to your gas...know it's not a lot...but hey! It's gas!

Now this is if you can work it out and get ALL of those babies here...including the Teddy gurls????

That's FIVE crates. One fell swoop!

And VOILA! The furkids have homes, and all is well  and safe for those poor little hurt girls.

As I said before...it is truly heartwarming that ALL of us join in as a united team to help the ones who cannot. I LOVE that! Like the S.C rescue group ( not even a RAttie rescue) who said they would do anything they can to help make this happen. And so on..... Restores my (jaded) opinion of Humanity!

Thanks Again Ya'll!!!!! Hope it all works out for these little girls!

yes, I was thinking the exact same thing!

BOTTOM LINE for ME is this:

I have the entire weekend 24th evening, 25th and 26th completely OPEN and AVAILABLE....
It is about 4.5 hours to Morgantown for me and about 5.5 more to get to Savannah....
I CAN NOT afford the gas to drive this far
I DO HAVE the TIME to donate for sure
Alfy IS APPROVED to come to an adopter who lives FIVE MINUTES from me, so Alfy would get a ride home too! YAY

oh yeah, two more things....
I have a honda element.....you can TOTALLY take the back seats OUT....I would have a large flat surface that would fit at least 4 crates and then I have the passenger seat as well......so 5 would fit for sure...
also, a waterfront beach house sounds GRAND!!! LOL

Hey everyone, I just got through sending a rather long email to Paula, Caroline, Sherri (even though she may not be able to get it) and cc'd mary.

As Mary said, she is willing to drive and I'm willing to either drive and or ride with her once she hits somewhere in NC that I could meet up with her. If she is game to share a room (I'll try not to snore) I'd be willing to help with gas and maybe some others would be willing to chip in as well. Some one like me who wants to help but isn't in the area to drive or doesn't have the time or car space etc.

With both Mary and I together, it would be easier to handle all the puppy and ratty wrangling for breaks, etc.

anyway, just a suggestion! (OOps I just reread Mary's last post, and if she needs the front seat then, I can stay home [insert sad face here!LOL OR i guess I could hold a cage, tee hee] well you know what I'm trying to say)

I await further orders, instructions and or ideas. Ratties Onward Hoooo-oooooh! (that last is the sound of the old westward bound wagon trains when the wagon master was getting everyone moving!!)

Sherri asked me if the NR Florida dogs could ride my transport today and I agreed to carry them with mine. I'm not sure why they didn't take me up on the offer; all I know is - I told Sherri I would, and then Paula posted her transport sheet a couple of days later.

Well, I'm sure Taffy and Aka will be happy to stay with GrandMarcie in the greater need to keep car space for the transport ratties. They can travel another time. I have great faith in MB's getting more fosters that will come down I=95.

But I think we will have lots of ratties to play with. Now about the ratties that Caroline was trying to get to Florida, do we know if she had anyone in Savannah to pick them up and move them on or are more ratties landing in St. MAry's than I realize?

anywho, willing able and ready!! just let me know.

" about the ratties that Caroline was trying to get to Florida, do we know if she had anyone in Savannah to pick them up and move them on or are more ratties landing in St. MAry's than I realize?"

My query also?

I offered (several weeks ago) to go to COLUMBIA to get them ..or near there...but it was cancelled...forget why. Then I , few days ago, emailed a volunteer about  everyone  joining  to help transport the rescues to Fla...no response? Hate emails...lose them all the time!

I just assumed they( Ratbones) were full and could not fill any more?

I  am a little confused 'cause I thought Sherrie requested help and noone could pitch in?

Maybe...Too many transports and hers were last on the list? Not certain?

I am out of the loop I think because I just jump in whenever any rescue needs help. I AM in Savannah and more than willing to help on the days I can...Sundays usually.

ALL the Rattie Rescues know my limitations (Sundays only)...and yet my willingness to help when I can.

Well..bottom line. It doesn't really matter about circumstances. JUST that these doggies are delivered to safe havens. PERIOD! AND thanks to ALL that make it happen!!!!
