If any one get offened by what I'm about to say thats okay none of this was my idea to begain with,

Well my grandfather got my (good for nothing, none working, mooching) uncle a dog, She is a very beautiful if underweight German Shepard and Malimute(sp) mix, but because she is not a Boxer he dosen't want her. His beleifs are if you can't breed them to make money then you shouldn't have them. I have fought with him constantly about this because he wanted me to breed Guen. just for money. So I said I would keep her for the time being and get her to a healthy weight and train her, the basics at least, then find her a good home. Are there any suggestions on rescues to go through to help with this process? I would love to keep her but I can barley affored to have Guen. at the moment with all the changes going on in my life that another dog isn't an option. But I do want her healthy before going to a new home.

Please if possible only good opinions about how to do this.

Where are you located. How old is she. If you work with her and can make sure she's housetrained, maybe knows some basic commands, and can verify that she's good/not good with other dogs/cats/kids/etc., perhaps you'll be able to rehome with someone who will love her.

Got any pics?

Try to find a low cost spay neuter program and have her spayed before you find her a new home.  Also just feed her several times a day to get her weight up.  Finally, make sure all her vetting and shots are up to date.

There is a program - Friend of Animals - here is their website:

http://www.friendsofanimals.org/programs/spay-neuter/index.html

Type in your zip code and fill out the info and you'll get an email with vets in your area that participate.  I believe a spay costs $90.00 with one of these certificates.  Also check with your local humane society if they have a program there, too...

Good luck!

I'm glad you are fostering her and going to spend the time to train her. Try doing a search on the Internet for rescue groups in your area for the breeds she is. They will also help place dogs that aren't purebred and you can probably remain her foster mom until she is placed. Good luck with everything! We'd love to see a picture of her.

Thank you every one for your questions and commits for those of you who know my full situation I apoloigize for the untimly reply, she is about one year of age and was already house broken she is doing good with the basic commands but is still very timid and hard to work with, my biggest problem with this is the fact that (back to the ones who know my situation), things just started going down hill yet again and I will no longer be able to keep her in my home for very long. She is putting on weight just as I had hoped she would she is on a very good diet and being feed one a fairly decent schedual. I know she is scared of cats, great with my Guen and the newest drop off, being in the country this is such a normal occurance and she is great with Regan so she should beable to find a good home. thank you for alll your advice I will keep you updated, and have pictures next time I'm on

You can do a search by zipcode in your area on petfinder to find local rescue groups. I'd contact them and see if someone can take her in.
