Dog needs home Rat Terrier (south hill)

We are moving out of the country and can't take our four year old rat terrier with us. He is about 17 lbs, up to date on all of his shots, and a great companion. We ask that the new home has someone who can be home during the day. $150 rehoming fee. Thank you.

Unfortunatley that is the state that our country is in. People are losing their homes and simply CANNOT take their pets when they leave. I'ts awful but alot of families just have NO choice.

I agree......it is hard for us just to pay our bills and put gas into our cars! Sad to say but the pets are paying for it too. People have to cut back somehow.

people cant buy gas, keep a home, love there pets enough to take them along and buy them food... but still can afford $130 sneakers, $150 jeans, $50 hair cuts, $30 manicures, and so on and so on... i am not financially in need and i still buy $6 jeans at kmart, $20 for 2 pair of boots, dont go out to places to eat or entertainment... i cut back on all those material things that satisfy my life for teh 2 living things that satisfy my life... and i know everyone has there own situation... so i am not speaking for everyone... but i am sure i speak for a graet deal of them!

I agree, we simply do without a lot of things in order to do right by that which is most important to us...our dogs. Not everyone has the same priorities.

This person says they are moving out of the country, maybe with quarantine laws, etc. they really can't take their dog. But why specify that the dog has to go to someone who will be home during the day? That rules out a lot of people who work or are in school! Less chance of the dog finding a new home....it's totally unreasonable.

and lets add to that... why $150?!?!?!? you never get back $$$ you put in... if they really cared about the welfare of the animal they would find a home, for free!

""FREE" is VERY unwise....lures in Lab "Harvesters" and "Bait dogs" for fight rings. Re-homing fees weed out the low lifes.

There are many countries that do not allow dogs to be brought in...and a few that require a 6 month kenneling (UK I think?)...

guessing they want the dog to be someone's full time companion because it has probably been used to having someone around all day?

Sad to have to move and leave one's pet...hope they find him a great home or a good foster.

Hopefully someone will suggest Ratbones or RTerrier Rescue GAP programs...would be their best bet!
