So things are not too bad in my new home....even though it's in a marshy/swampy place and there are lots of mosquitos here.  I got friends to play with and my bestest friend is Morgandy.  But she going home in 2 days which makes me sad.   We wrestle and growl a lot, it's fun.  I getting used to the "crate thing" though.  My foster mom makes it all soft inside with lots of things to chew on.  I'm a big boy now and some days I "hold it" all day while she away to make money for us!  Then she very happy with me.

I get treats, here, too.  Anyone have those bully stick things?  and liver treats?  And i get to lick mom's yogurt cup, too.

There was a bad thing a couple days ago though.  Mom took me to the vet dr. and he gave me a shot for something called "rabies" and then he made me sleepy....then I was real sore when I woke up. I heard them talking, they say now I "neutered' whatever that means...

Here a couple of pics of me with toys:

I so wish we could adopt Wulfie, but I know I wouldn't pass the home visit.

Why do you think you wouldn't pass the home visit?  They are just looking to see if the home is safe for a rat terrier and that all people living there are in agreement on having the dog.  They also give you some tips on things....like which plants might be poisonous, etc.  It's not that difficult and they don't care how great a housekeeper you are!

I don't know. I just have a feeling that we wouldn't pass it. Plus we don't have a vet right now. Waiting until more money comes in. Harley isn't neutered yet either.  I read that they generally don't let people adopt their dogs if their pets aren't neutered. He won't be for at least 2 months.  I feel like it's too hopeless to even hope for. He's a very beautiful boy, and sounds like he's a great little guy, so I know that there are other applications in for him.

Yes, there have been lots of applications on him. Ratbones does require that an adopter have all their pets spayed or neutered but not sure what age that starts....since many vets prefer to neuter at 6 months.

To tell you the truth though, Wulfie is about 4 months old now and has a long way to go with housetraining and with another pup the same age it might be better for you to wait until your pup is a little older. I've had to deal with housetraining 2 dogs at the same time (doing it right now with Wulfie and Sorley!) and it's a real hassle!

Do they really not adopt to people who don't have their pets neutered? What if they agree to have the new dog fixed?

I'm a foster for Ratbone Rescues so I can only speak for them...the website is www.ratbonerescues.org .  That should explain things better than I could, but, generally, yes all pets (dogs and cats) in a household must be altered before they adopt a RBR dog to someone...or even be a foster parent.  The best thing to do is ask them about it because there may be exceptions like dogs that can't be altered for medical reasons, etc.
