Hello all, I'm Beowulf but my foster mommie calls me Wulfie 'cause I'm big and have blue eyes. I came from a tiny town in Georgia and am getting used to all sorts of new stuff...so I wanted to share my experiences with everyone as I learn stuffs....my foster mom said she'd transcribe for me if I would record my thoughts so here goes:
July 18th: I am in a prison with my mom and 3 brothers and 1 sister. We have been here since we were 6 weeks old. Everyone in the family has been adopted but me and 1 bro. Then an odd woman appears and takes me away with her in a "car" thing. We go to "Atlanta" which is VERY big and exciting. I stay with other doggies like me in a thing called a "house". It has slippery floors and something called "stairs" which I afraid of but I get used to them.
July 19th: The lady takes me and my new friend Morgandy to a busy place called PetSmart with other doggies like me. Lots of people look at us and pet us. I get very tired!
July 20th: Long drive. We leave Atlanta and go to our "house" which is in swamp! Very hot and sticky. But more dogs like me to play with and a big yard to run in! And a man human who my foster mom says is my foster dad. I like him. Oh and there is a cat...i know about them from prison time. I like cats.
July 21-24th: I trying hard to not pee or poop in house. Mom doesn't like it when I do that. But I just get busy and forget I supposed to go to grass to potty. I have to stay in a crate all day but I make mom happy that I don't cry as much in there anymore. This morning we got for "walk". I got me a red "harness" and I walk along with my sisters Mayfly and Morgandy. I poopied on walk which made mom happy. I did tear up some things mom calls "magazines" .... I have toys to chew on but these were more fun.....but I'm trying so hard to be good! |

Holy Cow! THAT is one of the "oddly colored" pups I saw 4th of July on Petfindr in the Oconee Animal Control!!!! I thought they were doomed!
He is a little doll..I was so attracted to him...he will find a forever home fast!
What happened to the rest of the litter...and the Mom? I emailed that shelter a couple of times on the 7th...never a response?
Was sadly convinced they were no longer "available" because of the worst case scenario... Happy to see I was wrong!
They were sooooo durn cute...and unique in coloring....like Aussie colorings..?
YAY!!!! SO happy they were rescued!
Noticed an earlier post, that one was not...wonder why?
Is the Oconee Shelter a "safe shelter"? (Hope it is!)

Yogis Mom - Wulfie's brother is still at the shelter. He is the only one left out of the family, even the mom was getting adopted. I could only take 1 foster so I chose Wulfie. Unfortunately, all our Georgia (and beyond!) foster homes are filled to the max...there is no room. And no, Oconee is not a safe shelter but the workers will let Paula know before they euthanize the remaining pup to see if anyone in Ratbones has a place to put him. We are overun with dogs right now...it's horrible. People in rescue work call this "dumping season". If anyone wants a nice puppy I can vouch that Wulfie's brother is just as sweet as Wulfie. He does have a tail where Wulfie has a natural bob tail and his brother's ears weren't quite as erect. |

| Nikki's definition of "weekend": A "weekend" is when me and my mommy get to sleep in and eat a foods, and play and I sleep again, and sometimes we go for a "walk" down to the "fast water" and back "home" YAY home again!!! weekends are fun, you get to play and sleep, and be in the same room as mommy too! |

Wulfie, this is Jerry (and Darby is helping too!).... Weekend means Mom & Dad are home all day and we get BIG walks! Mom & Dad get to go to the Farmer's Market on Saturdays, but we can't go because one time a little boy there told a dog (just like us!) that he could have a bite of his ice cream.... well, when tjat dog took a bite, the lil boy's gramma got real mad and tolded the city council people that no dogs should be alouded at the farmer's market because they are dirty and bad and eat kids's ice cream cones. So we can't goes there anymore. Mom and Dad still go anyway and bring back Nelly's Pet Snacks! They are the bestest! |
