If anyone can help, this little girl is at the Irving, TX Animal Control. They are a VERY HIGH KILL municipal shelter. Russell is an independent volunteer. Call the Irving Shelter and have Rita tagged if you can help! Also call Russell so he can set it up.

OK TO CROSSPOST

Rita was hit by a car and is in pain.  Her right rear leg appears broken and the left front leg is also damaged.  She appears to be a young Rat Terrier or JRT mix.  Can someone help this girl out?  *I can help with transport if you can take her NOW.*  Here's a link to her pictures: http://fototime.com/inv/190F26E5F742F1C .

Has anyone heard if this girl was saved? It has been almost 3 days. Is there any rescues there that can help her?

I heard from Norma on this in an email, but no one has gotten back to her. Another rescue was also looking at her I think but I haven't heard more. Be glad the pics weren't posted. Not only does she need rescueing but she will need some major medical care as well.

Me too but if she isn't gotten out of there it's not very likely, from what I understand not much at all has been done for her where she is. She would have to pulled and taken straight to the vets office. If Ratbone does manage to get her pulled I will be working on a fundraiser to pay for her care but so far no news. Seems like a big hurry and then suddenly a screaming halt...If I hear something more I will be glad to let you know.

Donna how are your pups?

The puppies are very healthy. Did you see the pics, in the posts of "puppy faces", "sucking machines", and "finally eating puppy food", I posted the last couple of days? They are such lovey dovey's when you hold them. They like to lick your nose, so you get a really good whiff odf puppy breath.

a ratbone volunteer in dallas has called the shelter 3 times today and got voice mail each time.

Kathy here in WA is doing what she can to assist,

That volunteer has a mother who is gravely ill in the hospital and barely has time to make those calls.  She can pull the dog but needs a foster home to take her to, Jodi cannot foster this dog with her mother in the hopsital.  (Jodi is the same hardworking volunteer who saved Awesome Dawson and temp fostered him).

Since she is injured she cannot fly cargo to another state.  (I am in Seattle and would make room for sure).

Since she is 14 pounds she is too big to fly in the cabin in a carrier if we could find a ride that way.

We can't pull her without a home to take her to........and that home needs to be in TX or  catch a transport to a home.

I don't know developments from today this news is all from early this morning.

It is urgent to get her out but we need a home for her.

I will pass on that there is someone offering to do a fundraiser.

She has been adopted! I don't know too much of the details but our Az state coordinator was able to contact Patricia and she said she has been adopted!

I'm so glad she's adopted - the idea of her sitting in a shelter broken with us not being able to help was making me so sad. YAY for Rita!

Thank goodness she was adopted! How could the shelter just let her sit in a cage without treating her injuries?

I am happy she got adopted, I hope it's a loving family.

Thank goodness. Janie told me about this and we've both been beside ourselves not really able to do anything. Yes, I know we can't save them all, but just the thought of that poor pup laying there. This is good news, I'm so relieved.

Yay! I wish they would post an update on her, once she is healed. I wonder if they know about this site?
