Meet Ajax.
Ajax is a stunning rat terrier basenji mix rescued from a Tennessee shelter.
He is about 8 months to less than a year old and may weigh about 18 pounds.
(I got word that Ajax was literally on the table to get “the shot” when our wonderful Ratbone volunteer arrived to pull him from the shelter). So many volunteers worked so very hard to get this dog from TN, to temp foster care in IN, and then to the airport to fly out to Washington for foster care. Ajax is currently in foster care in Seattle, WA.
Ajax has all the enthusiasm and goofy energy of a young dog. He is energetic and can run fast and jump at least 5 ½ feet in the air from a sit. He is very eager to please and looks for assurances that he is doing the right thing. Ajax is Mr. Easy Going; he will do whatever, whenever and with a smile on his face! He will benefit from a firm pack leader to teach him and love him completely. He would welcome a doggie “brother or sister” to teach and guide him the ways of the world.
The volunteer who pulled Ajax from the shelter is one of the top agility trainers in Kentucky. She felt this dog has tremendous potential and drive for agility training.
He has learned his name quickly and he is learning the rules of walking on the leash.
He has shown no interest in the two cats in his foster home. Crates easily and keeps it clean, and has done all his business outside. He is very affectionate and loves to give lots of licky kisses. There is no limit to what you can teach this boy to do!
