Last week Indiana Ratbone volunteers went to shelters and gathered from the put to sleep list 6 rat terriers took the nicest, heartworm negative ones and then flew all 6 to open fosterhomes in Washington. These ones made it out alive and so far doing well in Ratbone fostercare here in Washington. With 4th of July coming up and vacations the 700 dogs from TN and on and on we need help. If you can help with transport, vetting, donate crates, pull from high kill shelters, adopt, foster, and mostly money, we at Ratbone could use it. I would like to be able to tell Ratbone volunteers in Indiana to go pull 6 more rat terriers from area shelters and fly them to me and the other open Washington fosterhomes in about 3 weeks. We have a great early morning direct flight on Northwest Airlines 9am IND - 10:36am SEA. Thank you to those who quickly donated.  I will ask Kathy what the goal is to raise.  I would say to the sky since it is so hard to get funds for all the needy ones and they are bursting at the seams.

Per Kathy this is what the costs break down to:

Per dog saved puppies are half the price since they travel in one crate
and flight cost is for the crate no matter if 1 or 2 dogs are in it but
they need to be 6months or younger to fly together.

Pull fee - $5
Health Certificate - $30
Crate mailing or buying used - $30
Flight cost - $71 ($426 for 6 dogs with 6 crates)
total - $136 for ea dog so I would like to raise $816 before I can tell
the Indiana volunteers to pull 6 more if we raise more then 3 weeks
later we pull another group depends on the amount raised.

Ratbone is able to pay for shots and spays and or neuters out of the
adoption fee so we will try not to pull ones with high medical issue
when there are others on the put to sleep list that are health but this
is all flexible.
