Ratbone's GoodSearch count is down this month!! GoodSearch funding puts money into Ratbone’s general fund to help pay for vetting of our babies. We’ve got 20 pages of dogs on our website currently – (http://www.ratbonerescues.com), with about 5 dogs on each page, so I think a safe (and low) guesstimate is that currently, Ratbone has approximately 100+ dogs in fostercare
Every search you make earns Ratbone a penny - and those pennies add up as you can see!! It's something EVERYBODY can do for Ratbone, and it won't cost you a CENT! It gives Ratbone a cent!

I wanted to clarify - (and I was corrected  ) that Ratbone currently has approximately 150 dogs in foster care!! WOW!! I had no idea we had that many dogs..........
They seem to be coming out of the woodwork... not sure if it's cuz of the summer dumping season, the economy or perhaps a mixture of both...... but if you've ever considered fostering for Ratbone, now is the time to act!! Too many dogs dying........ not enough fosterhomes for them......

"summer dumping season" - you mean people dump more dogs in summer? People aren't adopting as quickly either...again not sure if it's the economy or what. And when we don't have foster homes open we can't take dogs who need rescueing!!
So please - what Sue said - if you ever thought about fostering we need you! And if you are thinking of another rattie we have many awesome dogs - big, small, young, old, calm, hyper, you name it- Ratbones has it! |

There are a few "dumping seasons" unfortunately! Summertime, when families go on vacation, kids are off school, etc... and they don't have time to take care of their dogs and don't want to deal with them....
Then there's the January/February "dumping season" - dogs who are given as gifts for the holidays and they aren't wanted....
It's horrible.... and sad... so many dogs die in shelters... but puppymillers and backyard breeders keep cranking them out.......
