This weekend the Russell Rescue coordinator for Ohio is going out of town and she needs help with all the dogs she has. She asked the volunteers if we can each babysit one from Thursday- Sunday. Well I talked to Guy (who is COMPLETELY opposed to fostering) and he said that was okay. We are getting a little guy named Tressel. He just got neutered over the weekend and is under a year (I believe). I hope Guy will see it's all good and three isn't to many. PRAY you all that Alice is good and doesnt' be a witch (which she can be with new dogs coming over).
I hope it goes well. ............................... |

| Hope it goes well and Tressel wins Guy over. What is his reason for opposition, by the way, do you know? |

I hope it goes well! Maybe if he sees it's ok he'll go for long term fostering. That's exactly what happened with Bill. We kept 2 puppies overnight on transports and he saw it was ok so then he said we could "temp" foster. And from there he was pursuaded into regular fostering! |

Hopefully this will be like a little trial run and he will see that it's not so bad or hard or whatever he's thinking...LOL I'll be sending good thoughts that Alice is the perfect little lady! |

| Also, I was worried about Mitzy (QUEEN Mitzy) getting along with new dogs in the house. She's done fine! The most she does is snarl at the new ones if they try to take her food or get too close to the top of the bed where she sleeps. |

He thinks 3 is to many. He really was leary of a second dog until I explained Alice's situation. We are do'ers and a lot of times we take Fred and Alice where we go (i.e Kelleys, camping, family outings and such). He thinks the balance in the house is good and we can handle it. 3 may throw that balance out and how would 1) we handle bringing 3 where we go 2) if we can't bring them we have my mom and aunt as babysitters who would babysit the 3rd dog. |

| He has a point. Having as many as I do puts a serious crimp in our travel. Do you split your dogs up between your mom and aunt? Would one of them take 2? Fosters are not permanent dogs so it wouldn't be indefinite... |

Well, yes, it can be more difficult to take 3 dogs everywhere but you can always leave 1 or 2 at home...or have family babysit. Bill and are on the go a lot but at separate times and different places so it works for us. Plus we tend to stay home a lot on weekends except me going to the barn and him going fishing...and we just leave the dogs home then. Hope it works out - another foster home is always needed! (for ratties OR JRTs) |

My mom takes Fred and my aunt takes Alice. Either could take 2 because 1) My mom can't handle it 2) my aunt does rescue and she has 4 dogs of her own including her fosters . Alice makes 5. That's a lot for her. I see his point and honestly I do agree. There are times I would stay home if we couldn't work it out but that's not okay with him either. I am taking it one step at a time this being step 1. |
