| Nope, no logical sense. They couldn't run the shelter without being abusive/neglectful to the animals so they closed it and dumped the animals in a national forest (illegal btw to do this). They didn't try to move them to another shelter or work with rescues, they dumped the animals to fend for themselves, many of whom needed care or were aggressive. Nice job. |

Sometimes it seems the intelligent, decent people of the world are badly outnumbered by the stupid and cruel. What this guy is doing is insane....absolutely insane. You know Arkansas is one of the bad states for puppy mills...why don't they spend their resources shutting those down?

| because it's easier to turn a blind eye and create a feral dog pack (how that helps anyone is beyond me- now they have a bunch of cranky hungry dogs out there). I am POSITIVE that if they put out a plea nation wide many rescues would have stepped up to take these animals. At the least humane euthanasia would have been a better option than this. |

I agree, Bethany...
but I sometimes wonder if the rescues aren't flooded? I mean... they can only do so much. Seems there are more and more dogs needing homes...
It's all just mind-boggling... |

| It is overwelming sometimes but some of these shelters don't even try to contact rescues....Bethany's right that a nationwide plea would have helped at some of those dogs. And humane euthanasia might be better than being turned loose to starve. |

| Rescues are flooded Nora, but I am on just a few of the boards in my area and I've seen them do amazing things. I've seen them get dogs from the deep south up to Canada in nation wide 1 hour increment dog transport chains - on an almost weekly basis sometimes (there are more open spots in Canada for many dogs). I know that at least some of those animals would have found spots if the word went out on the big rescue vines. Some of these all breed rescue folks are amazing. |

Perhaps he's a member of PETA (who advocates a day when all dogs are wild and free and not abused by being owned by humans)?
No matter though, this is so outrageously idiotic that "normal" people wonder how the world has gotten to this point |

| That makes me sick and being from Ark. I'm ashamed about this, the worst part was his comment that if a child gets bit its the parents responsiblility not the citys that release them. |
