Morgandy, for those that don't know, is my new foster dog. She is the cutest thing, has never met a stranger - loves other dogs, people, even cats. We just went down to the harbor park and we met a couple with 2 little girls about 5 and 8...they sat and played with her and she was wonderful...gave them kisses and even let the littlest one pick her up.
She is a dedicated squirrel hunter - searches for them endlessly in the back yard. Loves to be held, comes quickly when called.
I just don't understand how these great dogs get thrown away....but someone is going to get a great little dog in Morgandy when she finds her forever family.

I don't think we can grasp what goes through anyone's mind when it comes to this subject. What a little munchkin. She's going to make someone a wonderful forever pet. I hope it happens soon. |

Awwww what a sweetie! I'm so glad you saved her. I wonder that too..I wondered why someone would turn in Kyna (Janta) she is such a good girl! It also really boggles my mind how anyone could turn in a dog to a kill shelter, when there are other alternatives. I'm so happy for Morgandy |

Fred, I believe, belonged to a family before us. He is so good and even with the gate open in our yard he never leaves our side. I have to beleive someone turned him into the shelter. What kills me is dont' they even wonder what happened? Their loss was my gain ten fold.
Alice was so wild when we got her, I am pretty sure she was never around people or furnature. Had to teach her walking on end tables was BAD.
They are both such wonderful dogs and I know that they are exactly where they are meant to be for their lives.
I dont' understand people who throw their dogs away. They have to have no conscience. |

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Great point, Julie -- good way to try to be pawsative about situations such as these. I'm glad some good people here have been able to rescue/foster/rehome so many of these precious furkids. |

Morgandy wasn't even turned in to the shelter, she was picked up by animal control as a stray. Probably abandoned. She's very eager to please. Has already learned to climb over the baby gate. Clings to us like a little monkey when she wants to be picked up.
Basically each foster I've had (3) just want to belong to a pack again...whether it be just 1 human, a family, 1 dog, more dogs, no dogs, they just want to be in a loving home. And they are so appreciate of things that our personal dogs take for granted. Like Gavin will now sit by the toy basket and pull out each and every toy. And Morgandy gets so happy just to get food! or be held. |

I was just peeking at the RBR pages of available dogs (even though I just signed my contract this morning!!) just to see the new faces out there and saw Morgandy. My heart melted! She's adorable! Someone will adopt her soon I'm sure. Look at that face! Who can resist.?!
Same goes for little Dawson!! Don't you just want to smooch all over these two ?!?!? |

| It's true MB, the rescues really seem to appreciate the good things in their lives. Years ago I had show dalmatians. They were beautiful, smart, and fun dogs who came from a great breeder and never suffered a day of hunger in their lives and I loved them both. But the rescues, when they finally allow themselves to relax and trust their humans, absolutely melt me. |
