I have been thinking about adopting a playmate for Molly, but I am not sure. I have concerns that she may not get along with another dog, I know that if we can afford another dog that I would want another rattie, or maybe  a jack russel, and that it should be from a resQ to best benifit everyone. What I am pondering is if i should stick with female or add a male to the mix. I am just not sure and also I don't know if there are any places in Oklahoma that do resQ for Terriers. What are your thought?

Why not see if you have a doggie day care in your area and go for a play date? That way you can see how she does with other dogs. Besides, it's good to socialize them!

I have a male and female and they get along great. I know that there are people here who have all gender mixes, but for sure, my male and female love each other to pieces.

I have two males and two females...They love each other, and take turns cleaning each others faces, like cats.

I think its the temperment vs the sex.  I have 2 boys and 2 girls of my own.  When I started fostering I thought my Molly (funny how that name seems to be for dominate rattie girls)would get along better with boys since she was such a dominate girl.  Well she fooled me!  She HATES boys.  LOL  She tolerates them, but I would have to say its more challenging than the girlies.

I agree re: temperament...we adopted our 2nd girl 2 weeks ago,  and they are absolutely inseparable, it's hillarious!
