How can people just throw a dog into a shelter because they've grown old? We will all grow old someday, unless we die first. And I know it's not always the owner that drops them at the shelter but sometimes it is and I just don't get it.

I don't understand either, MB. And I'm feeling helpless. The likelihood of either of these dogs being seen and adopted is slim Not many people are willing to take in an elderly dog.

Oh My, looks like it's raining Ratties in my part of the country now. I will visit this place Saturday and check on the Lady and Lord. Wish I could take them both in but will do everything I can to help get them out and into safety.

I think Lord Graystoke is a great name I do think they might do well together.

I have been so busy~ my son had a baseball tourn. in Lincoln all weekend, and my daughter had a softball tourn. in Omaha the same time...so driving between Lincoln back to Omaha all weekend (an hour each way) has left no time to go check on these poor babies. On top of this all my in-laws came into town Friday from Co. Springs for 2 weeks...even if we get them pulled is there anyone who is willing to foster them?? I know that I cannot keep them here, I have a house full of people and my own 2 ratties...but I can pull them if there is someone who is willing to help foster. Hopefully Steve (zogman) went to check on them yesterday...just let me know. If feel so bad that they had to stay even one night there in that shelter.

So sorry to say that I didn't get the chance to go check up on them this weekend. Had to work Saturday and wasn't able to make it.  Their hours are pretty inconvenient being open for only 4 or 5 hours a day. (According to their web site) Probably won't be able to do anything until next Saturday now.

if we could get them into the AGAPE Fosters out of Cedar Falls, I can help set up things. Cedar Falls is the sister city to Waterloo (where I'm living). You can't tell when you've left one and entered the other.
