Since my Sancho story yesterday, I got thinking about all my fosters - here's another great story -
See Bubba and his new family, Carrie and John here:

Bubbers was rescued from a shelter in Connecticut, and I fostered him last year. He's a BIG boy - close to 30 pounds - but was a gentle giant!! Just adored this boy - he was friendly, funny and playful! He would just flop down wherever he wanted - no matter if he landed on me, or another dog, or whatever! He was quite the character!
Carrie and John lived in NJ - and I met them half way with Bubba in July 2007 when he was going to his new home. I bawled my brains out the entire drive down to where we met. I really loved this dog!! (Still do!). Well, when I got out of the car, Bubba just ran right over to Carrie and John and jumped right into their car, and looked at me as if to say - thanks for taking care of me and finding me a good forever home - I'm going home now!! He just jumped into Carrie's arms. It was a beautiful thing! How could I be sad when I KNEW he had a great forever home with people who loved him??
It's such a privilege for me to help save these babies. All my fosters remain in my heart in one way or another. And their new families are always so grateful!! I often get holiday cards from most of them or we keep in touch via email. I have met so many wonderful people through Ratbone - I've been extremely lucky!!
