This is an amazing story, and a great reminder of why we need fosters and adopters, and why dog fighting is SO very wrong.

Sitting here bawling my eyes out at work.

That is one of the most heart wrenching stories I have ever read.

Thank you for posting it. It is truly inspirational!!

Our good friend found a pittie out in the desert. He was a complete mess and was proabably a fight dog. Well our friend kept him and Rudy is one of the sweetest dogs ever. He's just a big wiggle butt, and I can't imagine him hurting a fly.

Pits get such a bad rap! They are absolutely beautiful dogs and unfortunately very popular. I say unfortunately because every body and their mother goes out to get one and realizes they are large dogs who are very loyal and if not trained (like any other dog) will go wild. I am a huge advocate for those who try to promote the breed for the wonderful and loving animals they are. That story made me so thankful that their are angels in the world and ugly or not will love an animal regardless. This guy and his family are just those angels!!

A nice story. BTW according to the article Oogy's not a pit, he's a Dogo. Apparently they are more prone to accepting any animals or people their family accepts.

Bless Oogy's big old heart! That is what is so sad and makes me so angry about dog fighting. They take a dog that has such a loving and loyal personality and turn it into a monster. We had a female pit bull 23 years ago, and she thought she was a lap dog. She lived to play with a tennis ball. We would throw it onto the roof in the back yard and she would jump up and catch it as it rolled off the eave. Bob reminds me a lot of Belle, I guess because of the terrier traits they both have.
