Hi All, here's a new picture of our foster (of three weeks) Chloe, a ratbone rescues foster dog. She's doing great, warming up more and more each week. She's a fiesty 2 year old ratty youngster. We're still working on walking. She's so eager to walk when it's not so chilly (the wind still scares her on her walk - not sure why, never walked outside very far?) and not so windy that she pulls at first. LI is so windy this time of year when it's not raining it's been a challenge to find 50 degrees without it. Today she stood outside for a while looking up at the dry leaves on the oak trees as if to say, oh, that's what that sound is. She notices more things every day. She's discovered squirrels and boy is she fast. Good thing they were on the top of the fence and she hasn't decided to challenge the six foot high fence yet. It's been a while since we had a youngster in the house. If we left her to her own devices she'd dig a hole to china in the backyard or shred quitlling squares in the sewing room (almost yesterday!). Good thing momma has doogy radar and she stops when she's warned. When we started this foster experience we had no idea what it would be like, but we just absorbed her into our home and she's one of the kids. Our 12 year old ratty Mooch is not too fond of her, they tolerate each other and play sometimes. She's bigger and rougher than him, so he hides in the kennel or cage sometimes. Other times he waits at the door for her to come in and wags his tail at her. In the picture she's cuddling with the hubby on his recliner. Very cute. She's not a kisser or a hugger, but she does wag when you come home and greets us happily. We've sent her bio and pics on to ratbones and she'll soon be on the webiste as adoptable. She deserves a loving forever home this time around. |
