I posted this over on Just Chat but wanted to post here also. Next Saturday, we will be driving to Southern Pines to pick up our new girl. Currently she is named Tabitha. Mom and I talked and while we don't hate the name, we keep having visions of Bewitched!! . I asked mom what she thought of us shortening her name and trying something like Tabby but mom was like, she isn't a cat! and I agree. So we thought and thought and mom said she had always wanted a dog named Taffy. She said it is close enough to Tabitha that it shouldn't be a problem. We thought some more and like it. So we will be calling our new girl Taffy.
Aka, Mom and I are so excited that we can hardly wait. Going off today to PetSMart to do some shopping for Taffy.
I will be posting tons of photos when Aka and Taffy get together!

THE MEANING OF RESCUE
Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

Thanks Sarah and everyone! Aka is running around the house with one of his favorite squeaky toys squeaking it as hard as he can. Mom claims that he is playing music!! He still adores his toys and loves playing with all of them. And believe me he has a huge collection!! He is very good about sharing so we will see what Taffy brings and then I'm sure they will explain to me that they need some new toys!! LOL
I'm awaiting hearing from Angel Wings new mom about a definite time and play for Saturday. Trying to contain myself. Aka and I go outside and play with his frisbees. he knows the difference between his blue and his yellow frisbee and will bring the one I ask for!! too smart.
I need to get some new photos of him up! and will be getting lots more when Taffy gets here too! |
