When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

looks like a rattie. it's hard to really tell because of the cage, but he's definately not a JRT.

furbabies: Lucy and Molly (1 1/2 yr old decker ratties), and Rosie (3 yr old dobie)
Buddy - gone but never forgotten.

Why is it our little boogers show so poorly in shelters? I mean look at that pathetic picture. You know this boy is MUCH cuter than that!

Who would show good in a shelter? I am a happy fun loving person, but you put me in a not so good place with risk of losing my life and I wouldn't show well =(

When you take those sweet personalities and put them behind bars it can be rough, but not always.

Its really too bad that we need shelters and how some can be so hmm how should I say this nicely "YUCKY!"

Not really a dumb question, but I know how you feel. Wish they could be as awesome as they are in foster homes, right?!

Oh well.

Exactly!!

I mean I melt for every single one, the less appealing the more I know they need to be OUT of the shelter, but most folks are not so motivated.

Yep! I love them from the moment I see their picture for the most part. Or at least my heart goes out to them. I bet the majority on this site are like you and me in that way!
