This little girl just sounds so sweet, and I love her face! She's a beautiful rattie, so I emailed the shelter for more info and thought I'd post her here! I just get so sad looking at all these ratties, I just wish I could adopt them all... but I figure the least I can do is try and help by posting and emailing...

Bon Bon is a sweet little girl who is very scared and timid here at the shelter. She gets along fine with other dogs and would love to live with another dog. She will do best in a quiet adult home where she can feel safe and secure.
Bon Bon weighs 13 pounds.
And this is the email the shelter sent me (its a long one!):
Hi,
Bon Bon is sweet, but shy and timid dog. She lived with a woman and 5 other dogs. She spent most of her time with the other dogs. She is very clingy, needy and insecure. She will never be a “normal” dog. She will always be nervous with new people (and sometimes ones she knows!) and in new situations. She is just a high strung, timid dog. She was not abused, that is just who she is. She needs to live with another dog to help her feel more secure and to take the focus off the human. She bonds very quickly and closely to one person. She can only go to an adult home.
I hope I haven’t made her sound too unattractive, but she was returned once because they expected her to adjust in a couple of weeks. She became increasingly fearful of the husband and was not playful with their dog. We want to find her a home that will be realistic about her limitations.
She is 1 ½ years old, in great health and in no danger of being euthanized. We would only euthanize a dog for aggression or untreatable medical reasons.
If you have any other questions, please call or email or visit the shelter.
Thanks,
Diane
To adopt a dog, you need to visit in person, bring your entire human household, and any dogs you may currently have. You will meet with an adoption counselor to help you decide if the dog you are interested in will be a good match for your family. There is a $100 adoption fee for adult dogs which includes their spay or neuter, a microchip and required vaccines.
Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter animal. If you are in our area, please stop by and visit our animals in person. We are open every day from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are located in Encinitas, east of the 5 freeway. |
