Something about these "older" ratties that I love.  Maybe because I don't know how old Max is  but that he is older.

OMG!  he is just adorable!!  I just have to post their description here, it is touching.  And I love how they said "if you have a Harry-sized void"

(look at that tail!)

“PUPPIES! (Heavy sigh)...They sure are cute and everything, but what’s a fellow to do when he starts to approach that double digit mark? Sure makes a guy feel like he has an expiration date stamped on his forehead or something. I may be 8 to 10 years young, but I act and feel like a spring chicken. I love to play, love to go for walks and REALLY love to cuddle. As you can see from my photo and nickname, I am as handsome as can be. So what if I’m closer to 10 than I am to 1? I have a lot of life yet to live and I just want someone who loves me to spend it with.” ...For anyone who has ever felt a little past their prime or overlooked in favor of 20 year old Barbie dolls or Abercrombie & Fitch models, you can probably relate to Harry’s predicament. Harry is happy, healthy and has so much love and devotion to give someone, but he tends to be a victim of age discrimination. His younger doggie buddies seem to get adopted quickly. Even his really, really old counterparts (who are practically about to fall over) get adopted quickly. Poor Harry is in that awkward middle ground - not a pup, yet not ancient, either. We know there is a special someone out there who has a Harry-sized void in their life - someone who will give Harry a loving, permanent home, not because they feel sorry for him, but because they realize what a gem of a guy he really is. Harry is used to being around other dogs and gets along great with the other dogs at his foster home. He tends to be a little more on the dominant, than the submissive side. He IS a Terrier, after all. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of Harry’s neuter, teeth-cleaning, shots, worming and the heartworm treatment he completed last summer. Harry is now on monthly heartworm prevention and is as good as new. Harry is crate-trained and we are working on the housetraining (gotta love those belly bands!) **Applicants for Harry must have a verifiable history with a vet. A home visit will be required prior to adoption.** If you can relate to Harry’s story and would like to give this sweet guy a loving, forever home, please complete our online application today: www.tassieshope.org

Dang! I knew better than to look...

The older ones get me too. He looks  and sounds like a real cutie I'm glad that he's in a foster home insted of a shelter. I would foster if I could, but I get way to attached and would wind up wanting to keep everyone. Hubby does great with the ones I have, but I'm at my limit.

Hmmm... maybe I could sneak one more in

Max is an only dog and will hopefully live 10 more years ( although we don't know his age).   But someday,   I"ll have a few rescues

He is adorable.
Does he look like the dog that was on Petticoat Junction? I haven't seen that for years.

Can you just imagine how dejected and lonely he must feel. All poor Harry wants is a warm lap to lay in throughout his golden years, and maybe a good buddy to play with so he doesn't feel too old....

(I'm just saying...)

OMG, I wonder what your hubby would do if he starts receiving e-mails from ALL of us on here, if it gets you Harry I will be the first to hit send!!

Wouldn't that be a bust, all of a sudden your hubby has 100's of e-mails from the Rat Pack!!

That would just make him stubborn and obstinately determined not to get him. Really, we can't get another rattie right now. We both work two jobs and poor Bob is neglected as it is.

Hubby really liked the dog that looked like Jack Nicholson, but we talked it over and decided we just didn't have time to help one acclimate to our home and help it with any training problems.

It's very responsible to realize that, Pam. I can't do it either right now, mostly because of Anna, as I've said before. It just would not be fair to her to add another exhuberant rattie (and I'm not sure she would tolerate any older dog - as opposed to a new puppy).
