Pinky's fostermom and I have been emailing back & forth so we can learn about Pinky and what a great gal she is I asked about Pinky's past and where she came from and this is what I learned

"Pinky was found in a field in Michigan, she had a fractured hip and major head trauma (they say she was hit by a car).  She was chased through the field and was scared to death.  When she was at the shelter, I was told that she snapped would snap at anyone trying to get her out of her crate (I guess I wouldn't be to happy either).  I have not seen that behaviour here with us at all (we did give her all kinds of space).  It took us about a week or more to get her to come out of her crate when we were in the kitchen.   She has come so far it is not like she is the same dog.

She walks very nicely on leash, will sit when you tell her and has an absolutely awesome recall.  She checked out a horse this summer and almost got blown over when it snorted her LOL.  When I pull out one of her sweaters she lifts her head for me to put it on her.  I do believe that at some time in her life someone took care of her, you can see it in her, but I also think somewhere along the line she was mistreated as well.

When she first came if you picked her up all you could see was the whites of her eyes and when you went to put her down, man those little legs of hers would motor.  She doesn't do that now at all, she trusts that we are not going to drop her.  She will not jump up on your lap, she wants you to pick her up, which is nice."

This poor little girl had a rough start, but her fostermom has done a wonderful job of teaching her to trust again

Tracy, you will give Pinky a great home and she'll have a wonderful life.  All that trauma will be behind her soon.  Bless you.

Thanks Cheryl! I can't wait to post pics for everyone She will be babied here, you'd think Phoenix is a baby sometimes when our families visit! That's how they treat him, he even got a postcard from my mother in-law from Florida! We laughed so hard, it was a picture of all dogs on the front, the kids really got a kick out of that!

Pinky is so looking forward to going home to Tracy and family. I tell her everyday that she has her very own mom and dad, she turns her head and looks at me like ok, when am I going. She has started this really cute thing that when you point your finger at her she wrinkles that little nose of hers, everytime she does it I laugh at her.

We have had Pinky since September and she stolen the hearts of all our agility friends. She has said good-bye to all her friends, 2 and 4 legged and has eaten more cheesies that are good for such a little thing. She will be sorely missed her, but I have 2 more coming a 6 mnth old puppy and Baxter (now named Sir Lancelot).

Tracy you are going to be the best mom every for her and I am very very happy that she is going to finally go to her very own home and to such a loving family.

What a WONDERFUL ending to such a sad story.  Can't wait till she's home with mommy and we're getting daily Pinky picture updates.  Thanks for taking such good care of her Pat and getting her ready for her forever mommy!
