I agree- he looks a lot like a rattie. Never heard of a mountain feist, so I can't comment on that. I know back a while ago, ratties were called feists, but other than that...no knowledge on them. You're right, Sarah. He's beautiful.

It's so weird because alot of breeds look so similar and once they are mixed... man who knows! lol I think this pup surely looks like a RT but he does look like he has the ears of a Pharaoh Hound also! More round I guess :0)

My breeder has a few of the "boxy" type ratties. Mountain feists are hairer I thought? I dunno, but he is cute!

Never heard of Mountain Feists, Linda.  That's sure what he looks like, though.  Looks like he the MF might have a small % of Decker genes to me.  Googled and found this info and more.....

There is no way that dog is a Pharaoh Hound. The neck is too short and the hind legs are also short. The Pharaoh Hound is a very old breed. Check this link, if it works.

so you saw the Mountain Feist site ! I had never herd of them either till living in "hunting heaven"all the hunters had these.. they look like Decker's but they hadn't herd of Deckers either funny ha? they also had long rails too!So hunters like the tail as they are used to pull the pup out of the hole I'm told! well not so weird they hadn't seen a rat terrier either! (like most people!)
