PLEASE SEE THE TOP POST. I've filled in some of the legs we're fairly certain of (though mine may depend on the day because of a prior engagement this Saturday)

PLEASE, if you can help fill a leg, please let us know!!!

OK---I'll admit, I missed this whole thing. Someone just sent me an email to make me aware of it.  So, when is this event supposed to happen?  I might be able to do the Indpls to Richmond, In part---depending on what day I would have to be available.  I would love to be a part of this effort!

Paul: I THINK (but don't quote me yet) that we're shooting for maybe this Saturday or Sunday. I don't think pulling him is a problem (we have 2 members that might be able to handle that and get him to the second leg of his journey) but we have to have the other legs filled first.

Thanks for letting me know you might be able to do that portion!

I don't know about Carla, but I wouldn't be able to pull him on saturday or sunday, but Thursday or Friday afternoon would be an option for me. We could get the money paypaled here if I end up doing it. If it works our for everyone else for the weekend, and Carla can do it then that's great.

Ok, Bethann, that's good to know. Keep the information coming...hopefully we can iron out something concrete for this guy.

I'd love to keep him overnight, but it'd be an hour and a half each way on friday, and then an hour and a half back to the shelter area, then another hour and a half to the drop off point, then 3 hours back him. It makes more sense to do it in one day. I wish overnight was more of an option though. and on saturday I have to be at my parents place by 9am for wedding stuff.

Dawn has got (grammar?) the money to the shelter so I think that they will work with us time wise.
I think their site said they open at noon on all the days they are open.
A Saturday works best for me. It is about 3 hours over there to Maquoketa and another hour down to Galesburg. i have sent an email out to friends and family if they know of anyone along the route who might help out.
I was going to try to look for a kennel and pad for him and misc stuff. Dawn and I have talked about that.

I have posted our need on the two sites suggested earlier (from Just Chat post). I will keep you posted on any thing I find out. Hope we will be able to get Henry home, he really desearves a chance to be happy.

Darcy, which direction is it from your place to the shelter? Are you west or east of Maquoketa?

Carla would be west of Maquoketa, as am I. If I do end up getting him, he's more than welcome to have Sadie's kennel, and we have spare towels and blankets that we could pad it with. Am I correct in my understanding that the money has already been given to the shelter?

Yes, I have already posted his bail with the humane society. He is free and clear to be picked up, we just have to work out his travel plans. It would be wonderful if Henry could borrow Sadie's old kennel with some old blankies/towels. Thanks.

i was trying to think if we met Beth in Galesburg and then drove on to Bloomington.... but that would be 288 miles one way. 4 hours and 48 minutes according to Google maps.

Paul,  would you be willing to go west for a leg to bring him to Indy?  I could probably do the Indy to Columbus, OH portion.

Yes, Ski---I could pick up the Danville, IL to Indy connection---no problem.  Gee---if you could take him all the way to Columbus, Ohio, that will only leave 4 spots still open.  Lets fill these up, guys and make this connection happen!  (It will be fun AND rewarding!) .

Well. the first leg is definately taken care of, but depending on the day that works for everyone else, it will either be more or Carla (cjay). Just to let people know, i'm free, monday, wednesday and friday next week. Carla had the idea of taking the second leg, and if thats the case, I could also do it next Sunday, about a week and a half a way. I just know we're going to get this all ironed out. Henry is more than welcome to use/borrow/have Sadie's cage. If he needs one cage to get all the way, it can stay with him. If not, i can just use it for the first part.
I'm getting so excited to be a part of this. God bless the rest of you who are helping out. Good night.
