Thank YOU Tracy, without you and your idea I wouldn't have had a clue what to do. Thanks for letting me help. I am proud to be part of such a great site with so many wonderful, kind, loving people. I am glad Phi found rt.com and sent me the link. Thank YOU ALL for helping these precious babies.

It's 2am....of course it's past time to be in bed and alseep...my eyes are tired and my sight is so blurry that it's hard to see the words on the monitor....

But I couldn't go to bed without expressing my utmost gratitude and utter amazement at the generousity I am witnessing from this fantastic group of people!!  Back when the donations totaled $300 I was so grateful.  As the amount continued to rise, I was humbled.  It continued to rise...and I was totally amazed to see the strong unified force of this group of rattie lovers of rat-terrier.com. 

Words cannot express my gratitude. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally.  I know many of you gave from near-empty pockets.  Each dollar given is a dollar that will help a rattie on it's way to a new life.  If all the dogs that this donation will help could say thank you, the noise of all the barking would be deafening!! 

We adopted a Ratbone dog in 2003.  Tex was wandering the streets in Texas when he was picked up and taken to a shelter.  He was scheduled to be put to sleep when Ratbone Rescues stepped in and convinced the shelter to wait a few days in order to give them time to find a foster home for him.  One was found, and he was rescued from certain death.  We adopted him and brought him home to Alabama.  I can not imagine our lives without him!  Tex is the reason hubby and I are foster parents for Ratbone.  When we looked at our precious boy and realized that without Ratbone Rescues, he wouldn't be alive today...we felt we had to help other dogs who are like our Tex. 

Foster parents are just one cog in the rescue wheel.  Rescuing even one dog takes a whole team of people... people who donate their time and talents, and people who donate money.  Without people like you who open your hearts and wallets, it would be awfully hard or impossible for the "foot soldiers" to be able to do their jobs.

That brings the total over $2,000.... how can we ever thank everybody enough??    This is going to help us save so many dogs, and it's all thanks to the wonderful people here!!!

Actually, I think Janie already included the $500 in our total.  We were notified when the check was mailed so that we could go ahead and include the $500 in our total.  So the $500 is already in the amount that is just over $1000.

You guys are so great! This money is going to save so many dogs!!!! I just wanted to give a little background on one of the dogs that Ratbone donations help so you can see a cute little face of someone you saved.

This is our current foster, 6 month old Suki (on the left if the photo uploaded . She had a severe case of demodex and because the shelter couldn't spay her with mange she was going to be PTS. She also developed a severe intestinal infection and had kennel cough. After much TLC she is now a happy, healthy little butterball of confidence. We are still working on getting the mange under control, but she has an awesome home waiting for her in Denver, and when she's ready she'll ride to Denver on someone's lap.(no more cargo holds for this gal) Ratbone has paid for her medication and vetting, and provided the applications team to find her a perfect home when she's all better! They are able to help her because of generous donations like yours. So thank you from Suki and all of the folks over at Ratbone Rescues!

We have received another donation via snail mail and are waiting on the arrival of a few more. Today is the last day for donations if you wish to donate using snail mail you may still do so. I will wait about 1 week before cutting a certified check at the bank for the total. This is just to make sure all snail mail donations are in before sending the total to Ratbone Rescues.
