I'm happy AND sad.  The family got their approval last night.  This is always the hardest part.  I try not to become attached to my fosters, but it's hard - they're a part of my family and I treat them that way until they go to their forever families.

Mickey is a great little dog - he's about 10 pounds and definitely has little dog syndrome LOL... and he and Sasha don't really get along that well.  My Kaci isn't too fond of him either lol... poor Mickey, so misunderstood!

But that leaves room for another - and I will be taking the Daddy of Michelle in NY's puppies, once Mickey goes home (probably next weekend).  Michelle says Daddy (his name is Toby) is sweet and loving, and I think he'll fit right in

Bye Mickey Moo Mooster - I've had you since September and I'm glad you found your forever home!!  I'll miss you little fart face!

I'm happy for Mickey, but know you will miss him. Post a picture of just him so we can see him in all his glory, okay?

I'm happy for Mickey Moo and sad for you cause he is leaving. And this is why I couldn't do what you do cause I wouldn't be able to let go per say. I would be the crazy lady that lived down the street with over 100 dogs!

Ugh, it's so bittersweet, this post choked me up

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

I feel sad and happy for you at the same time Sue I am happy that he now has his forever home, I really appreciate what you do, because I don't know if I could do it, I'd end up adopting every foster I had! You're an angel!!

These are alway such happy but sad events. I couldn't be a foster mom. I bond too strongly and could never give them up! Maybe they'll send you pics to share or maybe even join RT.com!

Awww thanks, Tracy!  I foster in memory of my first dog, Bandit who suffered horrible abuse and neglect. He almost died after he was rescued. I adopted him locally from a rescue here in Albany, NY - and I only had him 2 1/2 years before I had to euthanize him because of cancer. He was only 6 years old. I didn't want Bandit's death to be in vain, so when I adopted from Ratbone, I thought what a great way to honor my Bandito...

And of course, you don't think I got 5 of my own dogs because letting go of fosters is easy, right? LOL!! But knowing you are making another family whole by giving them one of your fosters makes it worth it. Hearing from your adoptive people and how happy and wonderful things are and how much they love their baby makes it worth it. Making great friends with people who adopt your fosters makes it worth it. Saving their lives makes it totally worth it

You're so right Sue, and I'm so sorry about Bandit, the poor little guy I can't understand how people can abuse animals??? It's so sad, but thank God he had you at that time

I can't believe you have 5 dogs.....that's amazing! I bet you have a house full of fun and antics? I would like another too, I think we're addicted!!
