Needs a new forever home.A friend of mine from work sent me this email. She is 1 and a half years old. Mostly dark tan in the face with a white stripe down the center of her face, with mostly white body. She is not spayed..

Donna, I have learned of  a female Rat that is up for adoption. Her original owner does not want her any more. She is one of my puppies and is very sweet, crate trained and very loveable. She needs a good loving home, that will continue to spoil her in the manner that she has grown accustomed to. Please let me know if you know of anyone.......Thanks.ola

PS They are giving her away free to a good home!

Just too far away from me!!! I would love to get another rattie and a Decker would fit right in with Rowdy's size and Schatzi's even bigger size. I hope she finds a great new home.

Do you think the owners would consider Ratbone Rescues GAP Program?  Its where the dog will stay with the owners, but put on our website for adoption.  The owners become "home fosters" and they are put on Ratbone Rescues website for adoption. If you want to have this lady email me (suzie_redhead01@yahoo.com), I will put her in touch with our GAP Coordinator, Susan Beard who can give her more information.

This is a good option to use when Ratbone doesn't have any open fosterhomes. Depending on where this dog is (what state are they in?), I don't know if we even have a fosterhome available, so this is a good option.

It's a great program Please ask the family to consider it!

Thank you,

I emailed her with the info you gave me. She is here in Central Florida, Volusia county Area. I live in Deltona, and she is not far from me. 30 min each way to Orlando, and Daytona Beach. She just wants to find a good home for her. Her daughter has her right now, and her rat is about to have puppies. She is afraid the momma is not going to like having another female when the babies are born. She is having to keep her in the crate a lot. be cause she says the she is making momma nervous...I guess puppies are easier to find a a home for. Pumpkin is 1 and a half years old, and crate trained. She also is not spayed. She says she has a very sweet personality.

She is giving her away. It would just be the cost of flying her there. I paid 117.00 for a plane ride for Remi to come from Austin. Prices vary. You just have to sop the airlines.

Also, just so you know. Pumpkin's mom is spayed...Ola decided it was not worth it to try to be a breeder. Her daughter's dog is having puppies soon , tho...

Ola,

Do you have pictures?  Were you the breeder?  Would she consider giving it up to rescue if we can find a place for her to go?

Please send me her contact information. Ratbone has a foster home in Port Orange that has a spot open, but we can't hold the spot long. There are kids (older) in the home, so she needs to be able to tolerate somne noise and confusion.

Yes Ola was the breeder. The rattie looks just like her momma, that Ola has. The people paid her 400.00 for the dog. Registered and everything. They just said they do not have time for her. She is crate trained, and 1 and a half years old. Mstly dark tan face, and mostly white body.

Donna,
I will be in Daytona visiting a very good friend of mine who also has parrots. All our activities will center around whether or not Hubby feels like doing anything. We are driving down from our house and it's gonna be around a 6-8 drive for us. It wouldn't take that long except we will have to stop frequently to let Hubby walk off the back spasms that always set in when we ride anywhere. Usually about 1-1/2 hours is as long as he can stand it. I have taken down your number just in case it does work out because I would love to meet you. Amos won't be going with us. The motel we are staying in does allow small pets. When I asked them to describe what they meant by "small", they said "Dogs 20lbs and under. I don't think I can make Amos look like a 20lber, no matter what I do. lol I also don't think he would travel well for that long of a trip.
I'm interested in Pumpkin, BUT if I try to talk Hubby into getting another dog, he's gonna want to get another PARROT!!!!!(we already have 8!)
Also, I'd need to consider if Pumpkin has very much of a prey drive. I would hate to bring her here and she and the birds not get along. Amos is curious about them, but if one jumps down on the floor, he has not tried to attack it. A prey driven rattie that was small and quick(Amos is big and clumsy), might GIT one of the birds before I could intervene. Our birds and dogs are never left out unattended, but stuff does happen.
I kinda hope it works out for us to meet. My friend and I were considering the Flea Market on Sat but we haven't made any definate plans. So that might be a possible meeting place??

Yeah, the Daytona Flea Market is awsome. I have been there a few times. My friend has not emailed me back, and I have called a couple of times, but she has not called back. They may be out of town today. PM  me your number, or call my cell, and I will give it to her, so you guys can talk about Pumpkin. We work together, but I think she has weekends off.I will see her Monday.

If you are in southern California, you could have her flown to you. It costs around 170.00she is free, so all you be paying for is shipping her there.
