Patsy is a young chi-rat terrier mix with a zest for life....and check out her gorgeous 'brow! She needs a dog-experienced home that will commit to working with an energetic and mischievous bundle of puppy. Here's detailed info from her foster mom:

Patsy is the most energetic and attention-loving dog I have met. She loves to be exercised a whole bunch. I have taken her on several three mile runs with me and when we get home she is still happy and playful. If she doesn't get the attention she needs she will let you know by whining and "talking" to you. Her new owner should know that this behavior should be ignored to get her over it. She constantly wants to play. All in all, I think the most important thing Patsy needs is an adult who can give her a lot of structure and physical activity -- probably someone young who can chase after her mischievous doggie self. I don't think Patsy would be good with kids. When she is on the leash, although she has gotten much better, she will lunge and snap at passersby and other dogs. She has yet to bite anyone, but has a tendency to make people nervous. In the dog park she is much different. She gets along great with the other dogs, but is hesitant when new people approach her. Gradually with time she has become friendly with the folks that come to the dog park. She is a pretty fearful dog, but in the past few months she has come in contact with lots of very friendly strangers and that has helped her to be more trusting. Patsy would do well in a house with another dog, especially if the other dog was bigger and dominant. Angus (my other dog) and Patsy play well, but Angus is older and gets tired much quicker than Patsy. Which usually means Patsy continues to jump and pounce all over him until he manages to find a safe place to hide from her. If there was a dog more at Patsy's energy level I think it would be great. It would really help her get the exercise and play in that she needs and wants. She loves to play with other dogs. Angus just cant handle her constant playing. One major issue Patsy does have is with toys. If you try to take a toy away from her she will snap at you. She will also snap or growl at you if you try to pet her while she is eating or chewing on her bone. Usually I take it from her anyways or tell her to drop it. She will respond if you tell her to drop the toy. She definitely acts like a puppy. She gets into a lot of trouble. Her house-training is still coming along. I bring her out first thing in the morning and immediately after I get home from work. That usually prevents any accidents, but if you don't take her out right away she will go in the house. Patsy doesn't really let you know when she has to go. Patsy also does not come when called. In fact when you call her she hides. I think she is afraid that I am going to crate her and leave for work. It is very difficult to catch every morning and if she makes it under the bed there is no use in going after her because she will snarl and try to bite at you. Ironically, she does very well once she is in the crate and has no problems being left alone. She needs someone who is going to be very patient with her and is willing to put in a lot of time in training her.

Patsy is a great dog with a lot of love to give. She needs to find someone who will give her lots of exercise and attention and someone who is willing to put a lot of work in. Patsy is definitely not a lap dog. She has yet to ever lay in my lap, because she is constantly moving all over the place. So, if someone wants a nice quiet dog that will lay in their lap she is not for them!

Patsy is about 1 year old and weighs about 10 lbs.
