Tracey, how can you go look at those dogs in danger sites?! it's so heart breaking thinking about them all. You pray one will get rescued, and you fall in love with another that you couldn't possibly rescue... oh it just breaks my heart thinking about those guys.

Would he be eligible for ratbonesrescue if somebody can go get him out of there?

It does hurt, but we've had our share of wonderful success stories here
and even if it's only 1 or 2 dogs saved for every 20 or more posted, then
it's all worth it

It's not easy, and I know we'll never truly be able to save them all, but
we've still got to try.

I hope that someone can give Radar a good home.  I don't want to have to read about another dog being put down.

Unfortunately, this is the WORST part of rescue. While we would love to save EVERY Rattie in a shelter from being euthanized, it's just not possible. It could drive a person crazy if we thought about every dog we COULDN'T save instead of the ones we CAN and ALREADY have saved. It's a very distressing situation to be in - to have to let a dog die because we don't have a fosterhome in that area or all our fosterhomes are full. Believe me, I despise it. I wish people would spay and neuter and SHUT DOWN backyard breeders and puppy mills. We'd see a lot less of dogs like this.

This is why we are in DIRE need of fosterhomes. The more fosterhomes we have, the more dogs we can save. Please consider becoming a fosterhome for Ratbone Rescues. It is such a wonderful experience, knowing YOU saved a life and gave a needy Rattie another chance at a happy life. Hearing awesome stories from the people who adopted your Ratties and how much they love them... nothing is better!!

Here's our fosterparent link: http://www.ratbonerescues.com/fosterparent.php

Please think about it.

Thanks everybody,

Sue in NY

This is EXACTLY how I ended up with Alice, only she was on her last day.

I actually had someone from Russell Rescue who lived by the shelter pull her so I knew she wouldn't get put down before I got there. The kennel wouldn't even hold her while I drove there. Bastards.

Tracey,

Has Bonita seen this? I think in another post she said that she would be willing to foster...and I think she is close to that area.
