I have two Rat Terriers that I want to give away.  They were going to be dumped by their owner but we talked him into letting us take them.  They are five years old and are brown and white.

They are both house broken and great barkers when someone is at the door.  Tjey do have one problem and that is that they like to chase cars.  This means that they will have to go to a home that has a fenced yard.  If you want a quiet, loving dog then one of them may be just for you.  At the moment, the dogs are in Marion, IL.  You can e-mail me or call 618997-1824.  My cell is 217-871-7637. and we can talk.

I would love it, but don't have a fenced in yard, and as Sadie recently got hit by a car, I don't need a dog that likes to chase cars.

Hi all,

New here, but have been enjoying the stories...we have a five-year old rat named Sundance. She's our little girl and always an exciting addition to our days. We are looking for a young male companion for her. Since her best friend, Cairo, our cat, passed, she seems a little lonely so we have decided to bite the bullet and get another rat. We had been looking extensively at all the local shelters here for any type of "mutt" we could adopt and save, but have not had any luck finding the right fit.

About a year and a half ago she was nearly killed by a rottweiler, so we really need to focus on a smaller dog. It looks like we will definitely go with another RT at this point. Anyone aware of any litters in or around the San Diego area?

Appreciate any help.

Sean (one of Sundance's dads)

Sundance, be sure and check with ratbonerescue.com, petfinder.com and ratterrierresq.com I'll bet one of those organizations know of available dogs near San Diego.  And of course, phone your local shelter regularly.

My name is Sue Carello  and I'm a fostermom and state coordinator for Ratbone Rescues. We do not have any open fosterhomes at the moment, but if you can email me pictures of the dogs, I can explain to you our GAP Program (Guardian Assistance Program) where the dogs will stay in your care, and you will be kept in the adoption process, but the dog will be placed by Ratbone Rescues.
