Izzy flips out when anything passes by our house.  Whether it be a person, dog, squirrel, leaf, or the best of all....nothing at all.  I think she thinks that she is a pit bull.  Some neighbors actually laugh at her cuz she acts so tough.  Then they come to see her and she submissively rolls over and shows her belly.

This is too funny.... cause last night Shadow was in my bathroom looking up at the window barking. I got up and started laughing cause I put my shampoo bottle in the window and I don't usually put it there.... he was barking at the bottle. I had to close the bathroom door.

Button only barks if there's a dog being walked by the house.  She never barks at people anywhere.   We have some regular neighborhood walkers that walk HUGE dogs and that got her started.  Same with Zipper.  She goes ballistic if dogs go by the front door but not people.  But having been picked up off the streets so young, Zipper had alaready learned to be very wary of dogs (wanting to snatch her food away).  So I kinda understand why she barks at other dogs.

haha madden does this! he acts so tough but then somebody calls him on it and he wants a belly rub!! before we moved, our bed was against the window and he used to stare out the window and if anybody walked by, he'd jump and bark and scratch at the window.

Daisy and Licorice bark like crazy when people walk by our house......... But when they come to the door, Licorice is wagging her tail and is happy to see them ( Crazy old dog) No matter who they are.... But Daisy is like " Back off! I don't know you!" ( and she is shaking because she is so scared ! ) We sure do have some vicious attack dogs around here!

Ha, my Bella does something similar... When we go to the vet she and Henry have to go in separate carriers... It's hard to carry both of them while they're lurching around, so i put one in the basket of a shopping cart and the other underneath. Last time Bella got the bottom. When we got to the line, there was another dog in front of her that she wanted to play with... She started barking ferociously (my 8 lb attack dog), and actually ended up going so crazy that she knocked the entire carrier clear off the cart!

Ack! Glad she was ok lyndsey!

Nibbler is very protective over me. If i am home he'll growl and bark and not let anyone near. The fur on the back of his neck stands on end! Adam says if I'm not home, however, he just keeps his eye on whoever.

*Bonita* Mom to Nibbler!

The best is when Alice or Fred make the slightest growl or noise to the outside the other just comes running out of nowhere barking like "what do you see, I'll get em" and then that fires up the other one then they both run around barking and neither know why.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Hendryx is a good watchdog. He'll sense somebody in the circle (our house is on a cul-de-sac), growl, go out the doggy door, and do his bark-howl thing until whoever it is goes away. If it's an animal that's nearer the house, he growls, does a whiny bark, and then goes into stalk mode.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!
