or paper towels or whatever else might be down in your space to shred and make a mess and walk away.  Trixie knows this is a NO NO, but she can't seem to help herself and with 3 children around she gets plenty of shredding activity.

Niko LOVES any little bit of paper he can find. Rita tends to go for the laundry sheets, after they've been used.

Bob loves to shred tissues, paper towels, and napkins. He is a secret shredder and takes them behind the couch to shred in private.

HAHAHA...Toby is the shredding machine. He will shred klenex's, Toliet paper(he grabbed a whole roll the other day), papertowels, newspaper, he love the ads from the paper, envelopes.  We lifted up the bed the other night and found his secret spot for shredding. He loves to shred my husbands socks and underwear. I have told him to keep them off the ground but he got around 5-10 socks. So we will have to go and buy new ones but that is ok he needed them.

Molly and Lucy learned this habit from our dobie Rosie. We have to keep the bathroom door shut because Molly loves to get in there and snag used tissues from the trash can. She runs off with them, and tears them up...Lucy usually ends up "helping" her sister by playing tug-o-war with the piece of paper. Nasty dogs!

Amos even grabs the plastic grocery bags and tears them to shreds while I'm putting up the groceries! I tell him, "That bag is not a toy! Plastic poses a risk of suffocation for children and pets." He don't care! If he gets hold of one, ITS GONE! He also JUST jumped up on the computer desk and knocked my coffee over, just to get a tissue that I had wadded up there......He can be such a bad dog!

Lucy only seems to be drawn to Kleenex---straight out of the box.  She is a professional confetti-maker with these things.  Bubble-wrap scares her to death, though, so I might have to wrap the Kleenex boxes in bubble wrap to keep them intact.

Hmm, bubble wrapping the kleenex box to keep rascally ratties away...you may be on to something there, Paul.

The other night, I caught Molly coming out of my bedroom with a full box of Kleenex.  I asked her what she had, and she turned her head away from me so that her body was blocking the box from sight.  She knows it's a no-no, but she just can't help herself!  Man, what a mess that would have been!  And guess who would've had to clean that up?!

Nibbler is our personal paper shredder. Old receipts... Nibbler. Voided checks.... Nibbler. Junk mail... Nibbler. Between all the little pieces and the pieces he probably eats, any identity thief would run away.

Bob shredded a paper towel in the living room this weekend. When hubby walked in and caught him, Bob slunk into his crate without hubby saying a word. He knew he'd done wrong.

To Funny Chase loves paper napkins and Towels.. You see a napkin ripped to pieces and I ask him what did you do, he gives me this looks as to say I could not help myself Dad, I just had to do it.

When we catch him trying to sneak one off, I tell him Drop it and it funny to watch him try to spit out the napkin after he has been caught..

Rat Terriers you got to love them

Button has done it since puppyhood, LOL. She would even jump and snatch tissue/napkins right out of your hands! My stray, Zipper would never think to shred paper or even snatch it.

Jackson steals any and every type of paper product possible as well as laundry dryer sheets. He's into everything nasty including underware and stuff from the bathroom trashcans. He's getting better at giving the stuff up...I stopped giving him treats when he gave up whatever he had, so maybe he'll get the message now, lol

I think ratties should come with a disclaimer tag that they have a fettish for shredding tissues, paper towels, unrolling the toliet paper, both mine love to shred tissues. I have to make sure that when we go out and they are going to be Home Alone that all the tissue boxes are out of reach for them. If not, one pulls them out of the box and parlays it down to the other and that one shreds. They both know how to get the tissue out of the box with their nose and this wasn't a trick that was taught, they just knew. So it has to be part of their genes.

Hendryx is also a tissue shredder. We have to keep the bathroom door closed or he'll sneak in and pull all the used tissues out of the waste basket. We also learned that we can't keep a box of tissues on the headboard shelf because he will sneak over while we're asleep and grab it.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!
