Just curious and wanted to do a survey on: How many leads, harnesses, and collars you have around the house for your pack? I'll return later after I tally my inventory! Dare I ask how many pairs of human shoes are in your closet? |

Oh, gosh, I am a collar-holic for sure! Without taking a count, I can safely say that between the 2 ratties, the one half-rattie and the dobie pup, I have over 50 collars lying in various drawers, bags, closets, in the glove box of the van, and hanging on a hook on the wall behind the front door. I just can't pass up buying one or more of them a new collar whether they need it or not. Leashes: I have 5 retractable ones, 6 or 8 nylon webbed ones and one really good 6 ft leather one. Harnesses: 3 nylon webbed ones and 4 puppia vest/harnesses. ((I need help)) LOL |

| I probably don't have 50, but I too have a collar leash fetish. They don't all match, but I can't pass up a good bargain. That being said, just like with my shoes, though we have a lot of different ones, there are only a couple that get used regularly. The ol comfortable stand by's that never let you down. lol |

No collars for Pepper at present, three for Andy. 3 leashes Why none for Pepper, you ask? I put one on and Andy will chew it off in a matter of hours. Maybe if I soak it in bitter apple first. I do have 2 harnesses that Pepper out grew before we got Andy. I will be shopping for Pepper this week. Lorna |

Well first off, I am going to show my hubby this thread as he thinks I have way too much for Mollie. 50?!?! Really??? Wow!!! haha How long did it take you to accumulate that many?? I have 5 collars (I was shopping last night for another one, but didn't buy b/c of the hubby), 1 harness, and 3 leashes. I have been shopping for a Puppia harness, but only one place in my area carry them and I do not like their color selection. I guess I will purchase online before spring comes around. I am not even about to count the number of shoes. lol |

I'm not EVEN gonna comment as to how many collars/leashes I have because no one would probably believe me... but will admit I do have a collar/leash addiction. |

I still have collars that I bought for Dar (someday, Ziva will grow into them) and I have reflective ones, battery-powered light-up ones, flowered ones, sparkly ones, army-camo ones, and even skull & crossbones collars. My dogs don't wear collars unless they go out of the house, and they love to guess which one they'll get to wear! LOL (at least in my mind, they love it)
And I only own 2 pr of shoes at a time. |

Sadly the dog spending police prohibits more than one collar and leash per dog. However both Fiona and Kip came with there own, but Fiona did get new leash (because I was allowed to buy an extra long one) her collar and harness are still the same one that MB sent with her. Kip got Lucy's old collar, because the one she came with got wet and started to stain everything. Lucy just recently got a new one because I defied the dog spending police and got her one from Fiona on the gotcha day. So for three dogs, four collars, 5 leashes. Only one leash matches one collar. How sad is that. |

Hehe.......maybe we need a 12 step program for this! Only 2 pairs of shoes for yourself? I confess I recently purchased 3 collars and 2 leashes (only because they didn't have one for Franklin left on the shelf) that support military canines...wonder if that is a tax deduction...lol...I had to purchase them as it was for a good cause so we supported the Army, Air Force, and Navy, but not enough dogs to support the Marines at this time so we left those on the shelf for another customer! So how many name tags and tag bling charms do you have or do you just transfer them from collar to collar?

Please tell me Andy is in the puppy phase...I have never heard of a dog that used another dog's collar for a chew toy. I hope the new Pepper purchase survives! My dogs like sour apple spray go figure! Maybe you could post a pic of Pepper in her new collar...and help feed our collar obsession!

| Carly has the collar and lead she came with, and I bought her a headcollar and matching lead. I stopped using the headcollar because I wasn't sure if I had fitted it right, and Carly rubbed her nose raw on the ground trying to get it off! So really I just have the one that I use until I go to the vet March 2. I will let the vet help me fit the headcollar. Oh wait! I do still have Bill's old harness and leash, but his harness would never fit Carly unless she gained 10 lbs! |

Oh dear...just reading this thread. Yes, they have more collars, harnesses and leashes than I have shoes...at least shoes that I wear much. And I'm still wearing a pair of loafers to work that have gotten stretched and are too big for me because I spent the money for new shoes on more Anterlz.
I've got my eye on some hot pink Harley Davidson leashes and collars for M&M....probably the "bad to the bone" leashes and collars for the guys.
It's sad....although I have to say my doggie spending has slowed down since I got a granddaughter to spend money on. Buying clothes for her is almost as fun! |

May I make a suggestion for all you collar/leash/harness addicted masses? When you decide to thin down your collections to make room for new items, if the ones you are getting rid of are in decent shape please donate them to either a local rescue or one of the rattie rescues (pack 'em in a mailer and send them on to one of us). Between the transports we drive up here (for all breed and dogs who often come needing a collar/lead on the runs because the one they were sent with breaks or doesn't fit) and the many fosters we take thru, my home alone goes thru a goodly chunk of collars and leads every year.
Last year Nora thinned her collection down a lot when we visited and I can tell you that all the collars and leads she donated to us were put to good use. In fact most are gone now I believe. I also troll dog.com for their clearance collars/leads for under $2 each. Better quality than the dollar store ones.
Now my own crew wear martingales. I tend to buy a nice one for each dog and that is all they wear until it gets tired looking, dirty or torn. Right now we are wearing martingale collars from Sylvan and Sons but I have my eye on some Lupine woven martingales for the next round. |

Wish we could get some nice collars our way, our selection sucks, I hate ordering online from US. Also, I tend to take toys that are in good shape that aren't used (for whatever reason such as my dog were not interested) to the local shelter along with some new ones. I usually do that about four times a year, and if my friends or family sends me toys and my three have enough circulating, those go too. |

I have probably more doggie tees for them (every occasion imaginable) just because I can print them myself. Collars and harnesses, one each they are wearing, one in reserve, one "travel" for the car and a double leash for walking them, plus two leashes in each vehicle for "emergencies" We also have the collar and tags for our beloved pups that are at the Rainbow Bridge. But I think I may have the MOST VINTAGE piece, a 30 year old leather leash (6 ft) that we bought for our very first dog. |
