When Daisy's outside and getting hyperactive with Jake, she'll pick a spot and go to digging. She can go from flat ground to a decent sized little hole in a matter of seconds, the amount of time it takes for me to stop her.  

I read somewhere online that ratties can benefit from a "sand box," or a spot where they're allowed to dig. Somewhere you can hide toys and treats for them to find...like a designated digging spot.

Has anyone done that? Seems like Daisy would get a kick out of it...

Lacey's not an outside digger, but we play a game called "sofa diving".  We put her ball between the cushions...

A sand box idea is great.  Our Sydney is a huge digger and if we had that themn maybe the hooles would be in one area!!!  next spring==sandbox

AMEN to that!  I took Diesel up to my ranch in the foothills one weekend - where he goes crazy digging up moles and using them as "chew toys".

He was working a hole when I looked and lees than 10 minutes later he was completely underground - digging with his front legs and using his rear paws to kick the dirt out behind him.
