I posted about this in the "what to do if your dog swallows a sharp object" thread in the health section yesterday, but I would just like to reiterate that I don't know WHAT would possess a dog, while snuggling on my lap, to suddenly decide that my earring looks appetizing.  At least she was gentle when she plucked the earring off my ear and swallowed it.

She seems no worse for the wear, although I do wish she would find more appetizing things to eat.  Here I am pouring money into expensive dog foods and fresh meats and veggies, carefully choosing treats for training, trying to put the vet-recommended 2 to 4 pounds onto her ... and all this time, it was earrings she craved -- earrings and cottonballs. Poor little starving creature being denied her favorite treats all this time!

I just don't understand my dog sometimes!

an earring? while you were wearing it? seriously?! okay, I won't complain about my ratties eating tissues...used tissues they pull out of the trash can. they (mostly Lucy) always have something in their mouths. who knows where they find the stuff they do, but they love to chew stuff up...nothing harmful so far, they just love making a mess for me to clean up.

Lloyd ate my diamond earrings off of a nightstand...only to be discovered after he "went".They had been chewed to smithereens. My shoes also are fantastic, as well as, dryer sheets.

Hendryx got one of my hearing aids once. Thank goodness for insurance. Of course if they hadn't been insured it would have been an excuse to get Zounds.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

tauney will eat weird things it is like haveing a little kid you have to keep everything picked up off the floor and picked up where she can reach it. my suggestion is to take your earrings off before you go to bed!!!

haha an earring, a hearing aid, tissues.... BUT Nikki likes to eat bugs, she tries to catch flies, and successfully caught one. On vacation. And also on vacation she caught a big moth and my mom said AHH!! PUT IT DOWN NIKKI!!! so Nikki didn't eat it. NIkki But I wouldn't have wanted her to eat it either... she also picks things out of my trash basket in my room silly girl... But I catch her before she can eat the things from the trash...
