| Hendryx is not thrilled about being picked up and held. He'll jump on my lap when I'm on the computer, but it's just long enough to remind me that I'm not thinking about the dog. Then he jumps off. He does curl up on our feet while we're watching TV. |
|
His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK! |

| It depends on what is going on around us. Sometimes we can cradle her like a baby, sometimes she almost gets dropped on her face because she won't stay still. She does cuddle next to me in my chair when I watch tv. |

Sally loves to cuddle and she loves to be held too. Problem is...she is like 15 pounds of sheer wiggle. She really isn't a lap dog, but she sure thinks she is. She loves sleeping under my covers...laying as close as she can to my legs. If I sit on the couch, she is in my lap or in DH's lap. When I sit at the computer too long, she makes this leap into my lap, puts her paws around my neck and starts kissing (or sliming as my husband calls it). Carrie |

Neither of mine really like to be held, unless it happens to be THEIR idea. Lucy wants to be close all the time, so close I nearly sit on her when I sit in a chair. Bo only likes to be close and cuddle when he gets sleepy. Neither of them really love to be held tightly, though. |

My puppy just hangs there when you pick him up; he turns into dead weight. That is, until he sees or smells something that is WAY more interesting than getting some love from me. |

| Yogi's not very cuddly and rarely likes to be picked up. When I first got him he was always putting his paws up on me like he was saying "up" but it was an insecurity thing, when I did pick him up he immediately starts squirming... I was wondering the other day if other people's ratties are more cuddly than mine. |

Annie (my Jack-rat) likes to be held, curls up in my lap and sleeps while I'm at the computer ..... that said, she actually prefers to be cuddling with my wife when she's at the computer ..... she has that nice, warm, cushy "shelf" that somehow makes it oh, so much more comfortable, I guess.
If I try to get her to come back to my lap, she'll refuse, and if I take her from my wife, she'll be right back on the floor begging my wife to pick her up again. The only way she'll stay in my lap then, is if my wife picks up Lucy, my wife's smaller (and much lighter) Pom-poo .
Lucy is about 8 months older than Annie (we rescued her from a puppy-mill), and thinks she is Annie's mamma, since Annie was only about 5 or 6 weeks old when we got her .... they eat, sleep, and play together, but Lucy's still the mamma, and still cleans Annie all over while Annie is trying to sleep. Very funny dogs, each with their own distinct personality
Annie likes stuffed toys and ropes, and Lucy likes plastic squeaky toys. Annie usually despises my Autoharp, although she will sometimes sing along (howl) while I'm playing (most of the time she just barks and charges at it ... lol) and Lucy will just lay down and enjoy the music ...... wierd !!

Dazie needs to be touching me at all times. She loves to be held, its the first thing she wants when I walk thru the door. If we are sleeping on the couch she sleeps on top of me, and if we are in bed, she gets under the covers and sleeps between my legs! |

Merlin doesn't mind being held, but you do it on his terms. Walking, he has to be facing the same way you are, and his legs have to dangle. Sitting down, he still has to face the same way you do. He really doesn't like any mushy cuddling. |

My Holly is 9 months and from the time that we got her (6 weeks) she loves being held and kissed. I found this to be a little strange!! But if she enjoys it we will continue to do it . If I am the one holding her, my husband cannot come near me. She is a very jealous dog!! Sue NJ |

| Katie llikes to jump in our laps and put her front paws on our chest and give us kisses or stand/sit like that to be petted. She will lie beside one of us on the sofa or in the bed, but nope, she will not be held. That would mean giving up some freedom hee hee. |

Bijou is a cuddler most of the time. If she is in hyper play mode though.. forget it. No way is she staying still long enough to be held! She loves sleeping under the covers, plastered against either my legs or back. I can't be on the computer without her wanting to take a nap in my lap. She prefers to be carried when in new places/situations especially since she isn't fond of strangers wanting to pet the "cute doggie". LOL |

| Held, cuddled, has to be touching me at pretty much every moment. He sometimes tries to run if I pick him up but when I make him sit, pick him up, and sit down he won't leave my lap and sighs contently. It's almost like he is saying "Oh that's what you wanted. Okay I like this" |
