Molly loves to climb up on the back of the couch to look out the window and watch for birds.  Once in awhile, she will see something "real" and bark at it, but most of the time she sits there, and looks out, neck stretched and head cocked to the side.   (don't tell her I told you guys, but she even falls asleep up there, legs spralled on either side of the couch for balance, eyes squished shut...until she shifts her weight and she falls onto the seat of the couch! )

Alice has pretty much ruined our couch coushins by doing this!! The tops are all flat and the sponging in only in the middle, each coushin looks like it is pregnant!~!  She perches her little butt right in the nook she made and is guardian of the house!!

Bob's lookout post is the top of the loveseat. That's the piece of furniture in front of the front windows. He's usually there when I come home from work.

Toby sits and watches the birds and squirrels. If they get to close to the house he will wine and bark till they are gone. The Squirrels just look at him and torment him. He has also got a little bored on the back of the couch and took out a square or material 3x2. This is an older couch so it is not a big deal but yet it is. We have an older quilt over the back of the couch now. But we always know where to find him and that is in front of the picture window looking out.

Our back cushions of our leather couch are all squshed (is that a word? LOL) because Bailey and Buster like to lay there... so I can relate. Both of them like to be up "high", while the doxies prefer to be low, underneath blankets. It's funny... the different personalities! haha

Daisy has a special spot. Depending on the time of year, the furniture arrangment changes so sometimes "her spot" is the back of the couch, and at other times "her spot" is the back of the recliner - LOL, however, either way, it's her spot because she can see all entries into the house from there: the front door, the sliding door out to the deck, and into the kitchen where you'd enter through the side/back door. (I'd have to draw a picture to really explain it - LOL) But that absolutely is her preferred place to be when hanging out, especially if she's waiting for one of "her" people to come home.

Oh Minnie's FAVORITE spot is the back of the couch looking out the picture window to survey 'all that is hers" ... I've never minded this and always thought it extremely cute (even though the pillow back cusions have permenant dents in them ...) BUT now she has taught Ozzy to do this as well and it's not that much fun because he is 30 pounds at five months old ... I think I'm gonna need a bigger couch!!!

This is one of Mya's things to do too.  She didn't start doing this until earlier this year and when she sees dogs outside our apartment window she goes CRAZY!

Our neighbors asked if we got a cat because our little Rat dog lays on the back of the couch right by the window. I have to clean the window every week just to get his rat snot off the window. he is so cute but he looks like a cat

Maya is so qute, her ear wars are adorable---I got to update nora's ear wars they are now down after being up a month! Her avitar is so old and lame

Any way she needs to sit on the top of the back of the couch with her paw on my shoulder sometimes to get a real feel of the situation. Such a cute way to "guard" her people!!!

Fuji loves sitting on the couch and doing the Snoopy vulture impression He'll climb on the back of the couch sit down and when I look up, he is staring me down like a vulture. It always reminds me of Snoopy

Hendryx is also a top of the couch guy. We got a new couch with recliners, so the top is wider than the last one. Now he curls up and sleeps. You don't realize how small he is and that he's all legs until he curls up.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Yep, Nikki sits on the back of the couch too, she curls up there... Spreads out there and at dinner she's standing there to see if anyone will give her human food.  Silly Girl.

Nib's jusl loves lying on the back of the sofa. He keeps an eye out for all the neighbors. When he sees the man next door he jumps down and wants to go visit. I have a photo of him lying there in a "preppy sweater" at work. My co-workers keep telling me how cute it is.

Waylon is also a Back-of-the-Coucher...  He likes to sit there and watch for squirrels.  My windows open all the way (with no screens), so when I'm home and it's nice outside, I open the window for him to jump in and out.  He loves it!  He thinks it's his own personal doggie door and jumps in and out as many times as I'll let him.  The downside is that when the windows aren't open, he sometimes will jump up and down outside the window to try to look in the house and get my attention.  It's absolutely hilarious.  I'll be sitting on the couch and all of the sudden there's a bouncing dog over my shoulder out the window!
