Aka and Taffy both squeak when they are yawning. It is fhe funniest sound. Aka's sounds more like the way they made Woodstock the bird or Snoopy sound in the old Charlie Brown specials. Taffy's has more of a raspy, smoke ridden lounge singer's sound when she squeaks.

Aka will be doing a really big, what he thinks of as a manly yawn when all of a sudden, he makes this litle squeak sound. He acts like he is suprised that that sound came from him every time!!

Bailey does that when he a really tired. He will make a squeak sound and while he is yawning his little head will shake. It is so funny!

Sam's head shakes too when he yawns. He makes a kind of high pitched "ow" sound.

Marley does the squeaky mouth yawn when he s really tired.  Our toy fox terrier also did it.

Minerva is also a 'yawning squeaker' - it kind of sounds like a kitten mewing ... but we always laugh because her ears touch behind her head when she yawns!

That's too funny! Have you ever noticed how it seems to happen too if they aren't the center of attention? Shiloh will do this without fail if the rest of us are focused on each other... always brings the attention back where it's supposed to be!
LOL
Oh she's got another one we've noticed recently. Johnny and I have been training her not to bark when she's in the truck. If she forgets and barks and we remind her, she'll fake a yawn as if she wasn't considering barking, she was simply yawning!

If you want the best seat in the house ... move the dog!
